I don’t know what it is specifically but there’s something that both Billy Mitchell and JD Vance have about them that causes my brain to substitute one for the other.

Oh man I’ve been playing it nearly every day since it came out!
I mean I’m a massive Warhammer fan so I’m a bit bias but it’s awesome, hard to improve on the first one but they have!
The rose tinted spectacle wearer in me caved in and picked up GTA 3, Vice City & San Andreas for the Switch last night.
Currently 60% off (£20) from the Nintendo Shop. Cheapest I’d seen until now was around £30 for preowned on eBay.
Picked up Robocop - Rogue City from the microsoft store for a tenner, 80% off for the next day or two. Solid shooter for less a couple of pints
It’s one of the free games with PS Plus this month. Played 30 minutes of it and was kinda fun. Not a big shooter fan though.

It will suck up a lot of your time but I guess if it’s not on a handheld device you might be able to walk away from it easier.

This won’t make sense at first, but try to build your run around high cards or pairs.
At first that will seem impossible but as you unlock more jokers you will find ways of doing it.
Try and unlock as many jokers as you can at first.
Tempted to have a few goes but its already 11pm…

I tried it last week, I kept buying tarot cards but it wouldn’t let me use them. I still don’t really get it but it does seem like it’ll be fun when I figure it out

There’s a few tarot cards that would do nothing.
Temperance would give nothing if you have no jokers, wheel of fortune only has a 1/4 chance of doing anything, judgement wouldn’t do anything if you have 5 jokers…probably others. Hermit wouldn’t do anything if you have no money at all.
Most Tarot cards are not great at the start but get really, really powerful later on when it comes to shaping your deck.
In the early game, The Hermit can help you get your money above the 25 dollar mark fast.
Death is probably the best tarot card, especially when you have enhanced cards (lucky/mult/gold etc), fool can replicate death and hanged man can get rid of stuff you don’t want to come up.
Strength can be very powerful too if you need specific cards like 6s for spectral, 9s for cloud 9 or if you just need more face cards.
If you need a deck of all black cards, tarots can flip a load of hearts or diamonds to spades or clubs quickly. Or if you need only hearts then you can use the sun tarot etc.
Tldr: Basically tarot cards are mainly for shaping the deck you need for mid and late antes and generating money.
The deck you need is going to be dictated by the jokers you pick up.

I have so many tips to give.
You may not know this because the game doesn’t tell you but the order of your jokers are vital.
The game reads your jokers from left to right.
Put the jokers that give flat mult to the left and jokers that give x mult to the right. Make sure x mult jokers are the rightmost joker.
Say you have green joker (+mult) and cavendish(x3 mult).
If you put Cavendish to the left it will x3 your hand value and then add the green joker value (say 15 or whatever).
That would be ((hand value) x 3) + 15
If Cavendish is on the right it would be:
((Hand value) +15) then you multiply all that by 3
It’s a way higher number.

Bonus tip 2: the game doesn’t tell you this but hearts are the best suit because more jokers work with hearts. An important one is bloodstone which gives x1.5 for your hearts.
If you have red seals on your hearts or the retrigger jokers, you can retrigger the effect many times over and the scores start skyrocketing.
It’s almost always a good idea to try and get as many steel king of hearts and max out your high card levels.
The early jokers you get will sort of determine which direction you can go in. If you get ride the bus early you will want to trim all your face cards, if you get the one that adds mult with a straight you will want to trim your aces, kings and 2’s and 3’s to concentrate your pool of cards from the middle…
Watching good people on youtube is probably the quickest way of learning how to decide what to do at every shop.
