Technically, yes. But you don’t feel any kind of bite - you just keep rolling and turning, and your wheel keeps spinning a hair’s breadth from the deck, instead of jamming against the wood.

But surely this is still dependent on your wheel size? Where it jams or not?

It is. If you have big wheels - like 60mm or something- you’ll still get wheelbite. I have 54mm and they’re fine.

If you were running bigger wheels, you’d run the appropriate risers to counteract the chance of wheel bite.

Just downsized to this cafe 8.1. Thunders and spitfires. Also some south star risers that must be old enough to drink now.

Skate Mental / Venture / Death

One careful owner

I ground the trucks down to the axle from brand new skating a pretty rough curb every day for 9 days about 10 years ago and since then have probably skated 3 times a year. Would like to find a nice curb i could go and session but have done absolutely nothing to find one. Meh

Please get new wheels

Nitromorse’d up Bail Gun Gary 9.75.

Some Indies - normally a Venture fan but these are the ones I had that fit the board. Quite fancy trying something different / hollow / light.

Reynolds Spitfires in a 52.

6 bolts.

Did you not like the graphic?

I think next year, after my inevitable winter break, I’m going to go back to Thunders. Aces are actually fun once you get used to them, but I want something less reactive and more consistent.

Would be interesting to get some stats.

Surprising how many of you aren’t using risers

I’ve had risers on every single setup I’ve skated since Eastern Exposure 3 came out which was 29 years ago. Forgot to mention them, sorry. 1/8 of course. Right now I have plastic Indy ones but I recently got those fancy wooden ones Real makes, gonna put them on my next setups.

No never why would I need them?

Aces are high anyway so wouldn’t want them any higher. Plus I only ever ride 52mm so no need
