What’s your current setup

Dunno, for me a board without risers is like wearing shoes with no socks. Just feels wrong, like something’s missing. Might be a mental thing but the pop doesn’t feel right without risers

I ride Indys which are 55 millimeters high and 52s too. I tried to take my risers off for one session just to see how it would feel a couple years ago and everything felt off. I tried smaller risers (1/16) and that didn’t work either. I suppose I just got used to skating with 1/8 risers. I do get wheel bite quite easily being a big guy too.

No risers here, ever. Always felt too close to having a lapper.

I flip flop between risers and no risers. Currently using 2mm slappy risers.

I’ve got risers for 2 reasons, I rice super lose trucks and they’re rubberised ones I think so it takes a little shock out to go easier on my knees.

Now flooded with riser anxiety

I ride super loose never had them.

In my head they are like the equivalent of stabilisers on bikes.

I used to use the thick ones pre-‘popsicle’ (when this was all fields, etc) but not really since.

Tempted to pop a set on before I go out today - it could be the thing I’ve been missing for the last.. big number ..years.

Same here. I rode thick risers in the old days. Then I moved to slim risers after that, when I was using 58-60mm wheels on a popsicle. Then I took them off altogether when I moved to 54mm.

I used to have 2 risers on the back for more pop. I dont think that did anything other than making my board look like a hot rod.

I was probably still using the nose as my tail back then too.

One of the most annoying things bitd was Santa Cruz cell block III’s being halfway between regular sizes

Risers not sitting flush to the baseplate is worse than sticky out wheels or magic carpet

Until now I don’t think I’ve even thought about risers for at least 25 years!

These are the best ones right?

I remember credit card risers were a thing for a week.

What are the Heathen boards like, got my eye on the 9inch of this board. Need a shorter wheelbase, 15 inch on the Anti Hero feels too long but the Heroin egg seems to specific for my skill level - that makes no sense, I mean I think I need a popsicle, the tail/nose taper of the egg board puts me off a little at the moment

Nah just get stuck into the egg. Never go back!

I had one many years ago courtesy of Last Post! Was absolutely fine. Think I lost it whilst playing a game of S.K.A.T.E and it shot out on a failed fakie 360 front shuv and it went under a passing car. I was gutted because I’d only been using it a couple of weeks after I’d been keeping it as a reserve for ages.

Sell me an egg then. What’s the deal? People who ride them seem to really rate them which has got me intrigued. but I can’t have a go on one as nobody I skate with rides them.

I was dubious but have found that the nose and tail are narrow enough to act like a popsicle for tricks while the middle is wide enough for my big feet, terrible balance and lack of ability. Just good to have a change after 30 years of popsicles too. All personal choice though, obvs.
