Is 40 old enough? Not been out much recently though.

We are all pretty old here granted you have a few years on me but you’re in the right crowd.

Warning, your bones will not be as strong as you remember. That said, have fun!

Cab flips? Not thought about those for a while.

Turning 45 this month. Still skating as much as I can. Usually twice a week. More curbs than anything. Still landing/learning new stuff. front board-fakie nosegrind-fakie/270 out last week. And boardslide-fakie nosegrind-half nab the other week.

Definitely going a lot slower and lower these days, but kinda just stoked to be rolling and taking what I can.

Cab flips are my trick (if I was to have one) and even I am struggling. Just not skating enough, at least terrain to do them on.

welcome back! i am recently 44 and have a cautionary tale after a short but productive few months in the summer where i finally felt i was getting used to it again and manging to film somehting for the challenges on here (was not shared here as not a make but got as close as i ever got to 360 flip in last 20 years),

but then i had a really bad slam just pushing down the street (one of them where your back foot is somehow too close to the board and your back wheels run into your heel causing you to stop dead and i hit the ground like the proverbial sack of potatoes. knees, elbows, wrists, palms all in one savage split second and my fist in front of my chest on my collarbone/ribs gave me some wierd bruise so it even hurt breathing for a few weeks after. i hadnt had a proper slam for a couple of years before that (mainly becuase i dont try anything that hard) and so this was bound to happen at some point as the ā€˜price’ of blood has to be paid sooner or later, but so gutted that it was on somehting as basic as pushing and to be honest that has put me right off. i have only touched the board for about half hour since then and really struggling to convince myself to get back on it. I actually bought a radio controlled car (as that was a unfulfilled dream from when i was 8) and have been doing that on sunday morning instead.
not sure of the moral to my story - i guess be careful! and i do expect to be on it again soon but will basically have to start from scratch with the confidence thing and being conscious of making sure my foot is not too close to my board when pushing which does take away from that natural flowing feeling…
massive respect to all the older guys who are still out there on the daily/weekly/monthly, regardless of how ā€˜good’ you are that isnt the point, but for those still really committing to it and learning new stuff - RESPECT!

You’ve gotta pay to play
It’s always the little things that get you the worst, most of the injuries that have fucked me up the most have been from stupid things because that’s when you’re not expecting to take a slam.
I hope you can overcome it and get back on board, the problem is you have to be willing to get hurt if you want to ride a skateboard!

white t’s don’t hide the dad bod so well, I’ve discovered. Still in denial though.

Haha! Black tee (or white under a black jumper) FTW.

This guy ages.

I’m an L in everything, might be an idea to shift up to XL for white.
especially in this hearty eating time of year.
