That’s what I’ve got. It came in handy for the shop riot at mount hawke a coupe of year ago when taxis wouldn’t show up.
A garage that has mechanics not part fitters. You need one of those old school family garages where the grandad is still working and knows every car like the back of his hand .
The garage I use I’d pretty good for MOT’s and telling me what I need to fix . One of them used to work for Mercedes but hates cars older than 15 years because of the nightmare of sheering rusty old bolts and the job time doubling.
Paid £50 for it 5 years ago as it was destined for the scrappy. Needed £800+ of work done for the MOT so the owners sacked it off.
Best £50 I ever spent . I fixed it myself for £100 .
Since then I’ve done both ball joints, head gasket, hydraulic suspension system again , a wheel bearing and weld the holes in the exhaust constantly . Probably spent £600 on it .
And it keeps going . But the rust is setting in and water leaks around the window seals which I’ve temp fixed .
Old car but it keeps going . Love it .
I will, it’s just my plans of being in the UK could possibly change over the next couple of years so it’s potentially going to go .
Yeah, defo, but it would need work as it’s been my work horse . The interior is not the best ( everything thrown in there)
It will need 2 front arches as they’ve rusted and at some point loads of new bushings all round - a big job.
I can see it going to someone who wants to slam it as low rider retro as it will be cheap.
Don’t get me wrong I like new cars and the tech , some stuff is incredible and love driving them but it’s a crazy list of stuff to pay out when it goes wrong.
I’ll have to give in at some point when old cars are eventually outlawed
Yeah totally get that and why not, you got enough on your plate without having to deal with cars breaking down.
I look forward to seeing what merc barge you get
Think that’s why the whole resto-mod fashion has come about.
Old car shell with new insides
Like this lancia delta futurista
Isn’t that Integrale £300k or something?!
yeah
but the singer porsches are I think 1M+
For years I have been doing old Audi Quattro rally car stickers for a local restoration guy. His workshop is crazy full of various states of rally used quattro’s.
He has a Delta S4 in there too, bad shape but looks cool fuck. Don’t know it’s full history but it’s a great piece.
Couple of years ago we had to do an old quattro that holds the fastest 0-60 in some category, my god it flies, when he drove it felt like my eyes were not fast enough.
Was thinking there weren’t many of those to convert as they were notorious for rust. Seems like they’ve learned with the new ally body . I’d have one if I had the cash. Love how they look
If I was minted, I’d built a big garage and just fill it with iconic cars. 205GTIs, Sierra sapphires, R5 GTT etc. I’d fill it with decent tools and a ramp and everything you’d possibly need.
Race retro is quite a good to go to, filled with old race and rally cars. Then outside they have a circuit for some of the quatros etc to blast around.
This is based down the road from me, and if my numbers came up and I was in the market for some kind of track toy you could keep your circuit only stuff from McLaren and Ferrari.
Crazy! Love the old group b videos of them flying through a rally stage and the sound of the waste gate chatter.
I’ve mentioned it this thread before, here’s a link to mini running.

Do you follow juiceboxforyou at all and Neil Sheehan. He’s in Ireland and they share a big unit and he’s building an AE86 but dailys a micra and he painted it the same colour as that skyline and added all the livery to match. They have a whole series of videos on YouTube that are well worth a watch. Neil also skates and runs Cloud Skateboards.
That’s a lot of money down the drain
