I was in my local garage taking my car for it MOT and they had a fully restored white rs 1600 on the ramps . It’s was lovely and they said it was worth £40k
My jaw dropped .
To think these were going for a few hundred pounds 20 years ago .
The car I posted a vid of above sold for 150k I think. It was actually a bag of shit to look at really as it’s kinda thrown together but it has so many important parts, one of a kind engine, not even Audi have one them and the 4 alloys are 4 of 12 that are known to exist ever.

The scene tax on old ford’s is ridiculous. All classic cars have gone up in price in recent years though. There’s been a few record cars sold at auction like 205GTI and Sierra cosworth RS500 like 100k! And things like the quattro people also pay silly money for things like matching numbers. Some people will want their car to be the complete package how it left the factory or period correct, and others will enjoynit for what it is and replace with what they can get rather then sourcing new old stock etc
Yeah tell me about it, I’ve got a Honda Crx vtec in the garage needing major bodywork but once it’s done I’ve got a £10k car and that’s with 224km on the clock. Paid £500 in 2005 with 100km
Some have gone for £20k plus and prices are rocketing up. Seems everyone is trying to grab an investment… that you don’t want to drive .

I bought my mini end of 2012 and its probably doubled in price since then. Is it the early one, like 80s with the square back end? And B18 or 16?

B16 but I’m hoping to put a b18 teg type R engine in. Got loads of running bits for it already. Just need a fucking job to pay for it .

Yeah I can’t believe the mini prices , you couldn’t get rid of them before the new shape came out and they stopped production of the original.
Nice! Iconic shape. Yeh I bought my first one 11 years ago although it was rotten when we had it blasted for £900 at the time it had some tax and mot, metro turbo brakes, 1275 mg metro engine, alloys and a CD player. Although I’ve not kept up on prices I saw a project car that was a non runner for like £2200 and from the poor photos you could see someone had covered rust with duct tape

Yeah that’s what made my eyes pop out when I looked on eBay a while back , rust buckets for £1500+ and that was the last of the production line ones. The older ones were £2k. Madness
My brother spent 4 years restoring that one on weekends and evenings.A real barn find , full acid dipped shell, the lot.
It lives in a de-humidified air chamber at the mo. Cant remember how amny are left, think there were only 200 of each colour made.
