Love that golf. I keep thinking how much I would love to buy an older one and slowly learn how to work on it myself. Love the look of the older boxier ones.
My sister works at a JLR dealership local to here (between Spalding and Boston, so proper arse end of the country) and they randomly came to have an XJ220 formerly owned by the Sultan Of Brunei in the shop.
In fact here’s the video of my sister advertising it!
Absolutely mental car. I popped to have a cuppa with her at work one afternoon and we just gawped at it for a good 5 minutes in silence.
Beautiful car. Aged really well.
Loved the XJ220 when I was younger. Was the bedroom wall car for me. It was called the 220 because that was the intended top speed. I think it actually done 209 or 219 IIRC
I’ll just leave this here.
beautiful!
My car insurance renewal came through, gone down by £53 to £250, Hyped. Presumably a drop because less people are driving due to the pandemic, so less accidents?
What are you driving to have £250 a year insurance? Or are you really old and never crashed.
Mines £350 a year and I’ve only been driving 14 months.
It’s a banged up 26 year old Toyota Estima people carrier with all the seats taken out the back, takes about 15 seconds to do 0-60…
Bought it for £500, so it’s worth fuck all, and I’m 31 with 14 years no claims, so they don’t charge me shit. If I crashed it’d probably just be a write off no matter how little damage so I don’t think they are too bothered.
Story adds up.
Your no claims will be doing it, so will where you live and what you do. You could be driving a £50 motor and still rear-end a premiership football player and your insurance would have to pay out millions. The car you drive has got a bit to do with it, but where you drive is a big deal too.
Never say that you work in music or sport to your insurer, because the system will presume you might be giving somebody famous (and therefore valuable) a lift. If you crash and they can’t do your job it costs them a lot more than replacing your heap of shit car.
I worked in car insurance for five months once, and that was about the only thing worth knowing.
I heard (it might be pure bollocks) if you get a quote online, your email address can affect it. If you have a older adress using Yahoo or AOL your premium will be higher.
This also goes for film and TV work too.
Re-read. What’s the best job?
Car insurance sales
Something that’s a short drive away that has off-street parking.
Also don’t think that you’ll get it cheaper by telling them you only do half as much driving as you actually do - people who don’t drive as much aren’t as confident and are more likely to cause an accident.
Think mines 5,000 a year. Up for renewal in two weeks.
Average is ten k, according to Direct Line. Believe it or not.
Be cheaper then?
