Mine has a soundaktor.
Changes volume through the different modes although doesn’t have a completely off setting.
Takes an odb11 plug to turn it off.

I didn’t love it. Fun on rare occasions on empty B roads, but still not as enjoyable there as an MX5. Fucking annoying day to day in traffic on shit roads. Not even very fast either until you’re revving the nuts off it, it does its VTEC thing and everyone’s looking at you. I much prefer the Nissan Leaf.

I sold it eventually, I doubt its still on the road now, though.

Haha fuck my list is mental.

Smart Car which I got from a hairdresser and she left me the private plate which was MA4OVR or something close and was supposed to spell Makeover :joy:.

Nissan Qashqai - I rated this it was black and had those chrome bars under the doors. Light gears though felt weird.

Mitsubishi Carisma - Was a grand and temporary. I put the wrong break fluid in and they basically stopped working and I had to pump the peddle to make it stop.

Alfa Romeo Giulietta - This was my favourite. Had a turbo and a sport mode.

Old Jaguar XJ in black. Sold the Alfa and got this for a grand as a temporary car it was luxury on wheels. Automatic, I think 4 litre engine. Put your foot down and it glided down the road.

Currently on an Audi Q3 but looking for a plug in hybrid or fully electric within the next year.

This was the model of jag :joy:. It had 1 owner from new and was well looked after but when someone wants 1500 for a Jag you know it’s going to cost more than what you paid at the next MOT. The guy from the garage took it back off me for about £400 I think as he said he’d use it.

Used car salesmen are funny fuckers.

I had to jump my car earlier in the week and now it won’t start again today. Should I just get a new battery or get some breakdown cover?

Off topic but I read more mentions of porn mags on here than anywhere else on the internet. It’s brilliant, just an observation.

How far did you drive it when you jumped it? It can take a fair while to charge a battery.

I kept it running around 15 minutes then drove about 20 miles. The in laws have dropped off a charge so I’ll give that a go .

Does sound like there’s a problem. Could be a dead alternator rather than battery though I guess. But I’m no expert!

We have an engineer with us who’s only job is how things sound when they function, so basically your doors sound like that because people seem to like it. time to be alive haha

Defo give it a good charge as your alarm and imobiliser will drain the power eventually if you don’t regularly drive it, especially if the battery is at the end of its life. My MR2 battery had this as I haven’t driven it for 7/8 weeks .
Batteries don’t like being fully drained especially on a regular basis. Shortens thier life.

If it’s not the battery You could have a dodgy electric relay which has stuck open putting a drain on the battery.

I doubt it’s your alternator because most of your dashboard cluster lights would have come back on when driving( like when you start up the car then they turn off) and you would have noticed this. Abs lights etc

Also your power steering would have become very heavy as that loses power.
Your battery would also drain very quickly if you had the lights on, stereo , and dash lights etc whilst driving and they would eventually dim till they fully went as the battery used all its juice up.

@Chopper tried to charge the battery over night but that hadn’t worked. Probably just going to get some home start breakdown cover and get them out. I get furloughed this week so it’s not like I have to go anywhere now. Thanks for the advice.

Buy a new battery. It’s had it. If the modern chargers won’t kick start it , it’s defo gone.
There should be some motor factors open to get a new one . Halford is open
Job done and no need to call anyone out . But defo get cover anyway .

I had a go at getting it out yesterday and you have to take the air filter out. Got part way through before I chickend out before I broke something

What car have you got?

You got the time , hopefully the right tools. Very important as you don’t want to round off any screw / bolt heads .

Set up a little table next to the car , take off all the parts , next to them on some masking tape stuck to the table write where there they came from. Take photos on your phone too.

There should be countless YouTube videos too. It’s how I’ve fixed/repaired all my cars.

It’s easier than you think, have a can of wd40 at the ready to soak all the screws and bolts before you remove them .

2014 diesel ford focus. The oxygen sensor was a nightmare to get off and the lifting the air filter out was just not happening. It felt like there were more connections I couldn’t see. I’ve not had to try and fix anything in a car for such a long time. Not since I had an L reg Nissan micra. Plenty of working room in there.

I had a feeling it may have been a Ford when you said about removing the air filter .
The battery is half under the windscreen? Tucked away behind the filter. My mate had battery issues with his focus diesel estate 2010 . He had a faulty relay which kept draining the battery.

A common fault with those apparently.

Bugger, that’s right. Oh well, it’s not like I’ve got to be anywhere anytime soon.

You may get away with a new battery, could simply be that and being drained by the alarm and imobiliser over the weeks of non use, especially if you’ve never changed the battery in the time you’ve had the car.

If it does drain again , disconnect the battery to save it long term. Then you’ll have to get someone to look at it who specialises in car electrics.

My mate had a ball ache at his garage because they were general mechanics and they had to get in a specialist to do a parasitic drain test.
