I used to really enjoy those mixtape swaps on the old forum. I remember getting an amazing one from andy smoke with hand drawn artwork which was amazing.
Sorry for bumping the thread with something from way further up, but I didn’t know he made guitars; has he got a website or anything to check them out?
I found a pile of them last week actually. I can’t remember her name but we had a older lady who started skating from London on here for a while who I really liked, she sent me a rad selection of music from people she knew well. I get a feeling she was maybe married to Charles Hayward from This Heat etc or might be mistaken. I have gotten into some of that stuff more since. Can’t for the life of me think of the name. I’ll see if it’s on the CD.
I remember he started having a go at them after we started the first guitar thread where I posted the one I was working on. Glad he got the bug and carried on. I would have if I wasn’t lazy and had the room. Still got one half way through from maybe 4-5 years ago.
Off the top of my head, had a mix CD off FoP he sent me a book too (still have it) and High-C, with a Polaroid photo as her cover iirc (still have it). Must of had a few others. Two of the old (female) forumers messaged me to go skating in Whitby with them one random afternoon. It was far to late by the time I’d seen it. Would of been a rad day. Skating and Dracula.
I remember the poster you’re talking about.
She had a really obscure username - Big This Heat fan though so that would be amazing if so.
Found the CD but she didn’t write her name on it. It was a long name, kinda worldy or universy, it’ll come to me.
farfromtheland ?
Yeah and was it Dani (another female poster) too?
That was it! nice one.
Yeah that’s right. I’m still in touch with Dani
Was hyped to see some footy of Rogie skating again the other day
I always assumed that was that Tamsin woman from London.
A couple of others I’d forgotten about there!
WTF is that? I have zero recollection other than that forum got canned kinda quick. I’m guessing that it was because of that sort of spammage.
There’s a thread there referring to NB skate shoes. Had no idea they were doing anything skate related back then.
Edit - just noticed Aleysha in the image too - holy shit is that a blast from the past…
NB weren’t then. 100%.
I remember going to the NB Numeric sales launch and that was years after that UKSA forum existed.
Those thread titles were all pisstake and created overnight by someone who had access and was just going nuts on there, and I think that is why it got closed down.
The NB line would have been an attempt to take the piss out of sports shoe comapnies entering skateboarding.
It’d still probably be the second thing I clicked on there.
I just looked at the UKSA site for the first time in probably a decade.
Really weird. Didn’t even think it still existed.
