‘Some girls don’t know they alphabets, some girls do’ - ODB
(I had to edit the misquote but whatever)
Always gives me a laugh.
The ODB Mariah Carey story is a personal fav
ODB’s expression is priceless on this one.
Caved in and ordered some 52mm Powell Dragons from Cardiff Skateboard Club.
Mum and dad are flying over later this month so hopefully bring them over for me.
I found the 54s way too big (bear in mind I am used to skating 50mm). Another good thing I noticed about those powell Dragons is that because they’re so soft they don’t pick up all the wax and shite from a skatepark floor, they stay totally clean! The 50mm I had were always caked in shit, spent half the time scraping the wax off on the wall. But soft wheels, not a problem at all.
did you order a shaped deck and some lurpiv trucks to complete the rad dad set?
We aren’t at that level yet but not far off
aint 100% keen on the graphic (im sure thats sacrilege) but very hard to find decks with these dimensions in the uk
lovenskate 8.5 x 32 x 14wb
ace af1 44
spitfire f4 99d 52mm classic
mini logo/jessup
very pleased with it, was scared such a short wheelbase on a wide board would feel awful but its great.
Paint stripper. DIY blank
yeah I was gonna do that but ended up getting rushed out to go skate before I had time, nothing a couple slides couldn’t solve anyway
I don’t know where else to put this
Has this always been a thing? Has anyone tried it? There are so many spots that need some tlc
been a thing for years if not decades, plenty of brands do it but its usually a 2 part epoxy putty that you mash together and fill in cracks with. just took a while for a skate brand to twig on and rebrand it. not sure how big the tubes are that brand are making but 50g tubes of evo-stik 2 part epoxy are about £7.50 at halfords. fixed up all the ledges at our local plaza maybe 6 months ago, still going strong.
Not tried it but can think of a few ledges that could do with a spruce up. Usually just do some rub bricking then stuff a tonne of wax in the gaps.
if you do want to do it i’d recommend also buying gloves, white spirit and scouring pads to clear off all the wax etc that accumulates around and in the crack(s) before doing the epoxy. less gunk/debris = better adhesion. you can also get two part epoxy liquid ones but they’re a bit harder to work with so the putty is best since you can form it, really cram it in there and then flatten it so its flush.
Fairly sure I got a packet of something similar. crack filler? …with a Sidewalk Subs once.
Edit: Exhibit A.
Yeah usually just do rubbing brick and stuff wax on the cracks but wondered if this actually worked to fix the crack. Like if you land directly in that gap will this fix it?
I said this a while back , but the better one is the metal epoxy . Even harder
