Chillin like Aladdin at the moment!!!

I wouldn’t normally do it but the really boring/nerdy story is that the 8.28 I’d gripped and set up a year or two back on 144’s but sold the 144 on unused at the end of last summer - I want to get these 139’s down to the axle before I’m 50 (which might be a challenge as it is < 4 years to go).

I chucked the 139 trucks on the 8.28 just before Christmas just as a break from the 8.125’s - I’ve skated three of this particular 8.125 shape in a row and have another three of them to go after this Real is done :face_with_spiral_eyes:

Never sell a pair of broken in trucks! Keep them, you never know, or give them to a mate that needs them.

You will grind those 139s to the axle, just find a ledge or curb that’s not too smooth and go for it.

Oh the 144’s were new thankfully. Learnt my lesson selling used trucks - sold a pair of 129’s years ago when I went up to 8" and stupidly it dawned on me after I posted them that I wouldn’t be able to go back to 7.6 / 7.75 if I wanted to! Never mind. Kept my 139 stage 10’s when I bought the 11s though.

I tend to give my stuff to the local indoor park who hook up kids who need whatever. Its not a wealthy area here so my old stuff comes in use to the young kids who dont have much

Gotcha!

Yeah I always leave my used stuff at the skatepark or at my mate’s shop too. Gonna send a box to the Uganda Skate Society soon, hyped on that!

Looking at a palace board online and its ‘S27’. Presuming this is a shape, like the Crail ones, but can’t see anything online explaining what the different shapes are. Although appreciate that explaining the shapes is not a very Palace thing to do. Does anything exist? I’ve got no shop within 50 miles to go and check one out in person. Ta

Does S refer to the season? Currently on S34. So it’s not a shape. I have an S20 Lucien Clarke from about 4 years ago. On their website they have the wheelbase, nose, tail and overall length.

I love following these guys online. Just got a Uganda skate society tee in the post, bit tight, good excuse to eat healthy and fit in to it :sunglasses:

Ah man those look awesome and I wanted to get one but I’m a pretty big guy and was worried they’d be too small for me. Which one did you get?

This one in a large. Fits more like a Small/Medium though

It’s amazing to see how good some of those Ugandans are getting considering the limitations of their park. Someone nearly landed a legit 540 on that janky quarter the other day, and others are casually chucking out flip front boards. Amazing considering where the standard was only a year ago. Proper heartwarming stuff.

Yes! Stuff like this makes me so happy. This is exactly what skateboarding is about.

Aaaah that’s the one I wanted too! Lovely stuff.
I tried to get one of those classic Morocco tees (the one Free Skate Mag ripped off) last time I was in Marrakech but the biggest size they had, a fucking 4XL, was too small for me. I never felt so American.

I love how good/bad that park looks. I keep wanting to see something go down on the really steep bank on the side of the driveway. Hit the rail from that side then back in maybe

It’s probably impossible to get to though.

We really should buy one of these and post it to Lozza Fox

From one angle it looks a bit like markeaton park in Derby.

Best park ever.

Has anyone updated the toocoolbeastblog recently?

Not sure if this is the correct thread, but does anyone know of UK based sellers of blank decks, various shapes?

Probably because I’m seeing an endless increase in the price of decks at the moment, but I just fancy a blank now, as long as the wood is ok then I’ll sticker or draw on to my hearts content

Not blank but they are dirty cheap Unabomber boards at rollersnakes. I presume they are the same wood as the heathen boards too. I’ve got one of the he she they boards for nostalgia purposes and it’s fine. Top and bottom colour ply as well.

There are blank boards on ebay that look absolutely fine and I have bought from a few different ones. Some are definitely not skateable and some are passable but just a little shoddy like holes don’t look perfectly straight or are positioned off. Perfect for art/wall hangers but not for skating.
Be aware.

Yeah, that’s what put me off Ebay, plenty obviously marketed for art. There’s a US site but by the time it gets here I’d be better buying any branded deck and some sandpaper
