Equipment Thread

I largely expect you could get used to whatever. I certainly didn’t give a shit until I got old

Mate of mine fucking rips and I can’t stand on his set up without falling off. Shits is cranked like Jason Statham.

I’ve switched to VX decks (Santa Cruz or creature) much better shapes and they last so much longer than flight deck as they don’t disintegrate round the tail and nose , which the powel boards do.

The Mario McCoy board shape is lovely, almost twin tail .

Bought one, wrote down the angles, never going to use it again :joy:

Remind me before dadlands, I’ll dig it out and bring it over for you

Iirc it was about 5 quid off aliexpress

@Chopper i remember you saying the nose and tail eventually became kind of dodgy at the edges (even if they lasted a lot longer). whats different about the makeup of those VX decks?

@Mark i love that you went down that route and then sort of just stopped caring. i’ll try and remember to remind you  cheers

Similar technology, fibre glass style sheeting like the powel deck but they must use a different glue . No brittle edges

You should try that Finnish guy that made me my custom board, carbon fibre top ply and these mad inserts on the ends that stop the tips crumbling, still going strong after 2 years!

If you ask nicely he’ll do a custom one with custom graphics as well (I got all black…like a panther)

Siiiiick. So I could get some mad black metal band logo shit

absolutely!

I’m getting the same issue with the board though as i am getting with the trucks, it’s fine, it’s perfect, in fact, but I just fancy a switch up. maybe I’ll just get another one exactly the same but with different graphics!

Gonz signiture Stage 4s. Is it the 4 or 3 that’s touted as peak Indy truck?

The new Stage 4s are the ones loads of people are into, they apparently turn really reactively like Aces but offer more stability.
Haven’t tried them myself, got multiple sets of Stage 11s that work fine for me with Ace AF1 pivot cups.

Those Gonz ones would look better with a black baseplate I reckon.

Alexis Ramirez rides 8.5s on… 169s. Didn’t expect that.

PS: this guy definitely has one of the most solid backtails in the game.

hahaha he’s barely awake…so fried…

Yeah and he was probably in that state when he filmed those clips too. :face_with_spiral_eyes:

Proper underground hero.

I’ve been seeing more stuff about wide boards and trucks lately. I’ve just been sticking with 8.25" decks and 8.5"/149 trucks because that’s what I’m used to but then you see someone riding amazingly on 169s. I also saw a video of that annoying Braille guy comparing the Heroin Eggzilla with a regular deck. That’s a huge monster deck and it looks like a joke, but he was surprised to find it just as easy to flip as his normal board.

Absolutely.

Back 180 fakie wheelie half cab flip out like nothing. Incredible.

Never been much of a smoker so I can’t really grasp how anyone can do plank stunts that well under the influence. How does it work; is it like you just stop overthinking tricks and relax and it just happens, a la Penny?

Age 18-35, yes that’s how it works, a la Penny.
From 36 onwards, it works like that sometimes, but most of the time you just get The Fear
