I have a set of these and they’re excellent
Some good looking stuff there.
Quote keen on the wood stain & red board.
Can anyone recommend any boards with quite steep concave? I otherwise really like the shape of the polar boards I’ve had recently, but they’re relatively flat and I fancy trying some steeper concave again.
I know I should just go to a shop and stand on decks but cba with that.
I am currently riding a Madness board (one of those with slick on nose and tail) it has a really steep nose and tail and medium concave. I think the company is gone now but you still see the boards for sale.
The fact they were still going to rebrand is one of the more surprising things I’ve learnt today.
The problem most skate companies are going to contend with over the next few years, whether new, or incumbent, is how not to give in and just use AI slop for graphics
I don’t know how well they are doing. It’s hard to find their stuff here but distribution in Switzerland has been very bad for years. There’s more than enough shit but it’s poorly curated (or maybe people vote with their francs but seeing guys in their late 30s skating Primitive boards with cartoon or anime graphics feels so weird to me). Talking with people (I mean skateboarders, not warehouse guys) there’s a fair amount of $lave fans here.
I would definitely buy that Pat Burke board and that cube logo tee.

“SOLD OUT”.
Printed 10 samples, 5 given away to family, one on ego wall, one for under bed storage, one for a shelf for the 15 CDs he owns and 3 sold down the local skatepark, 1 to a guy who broke his board doing a backflip christ air out of a bowl over a scooter and 2 to kids were hoodwinked thinking it was Ryan Sheckler.
And saved money on artist fees becuase it’s an ai generated graphic
Best size wheels for Vert skating?
My daughter loves pumping and skating a vert ramp
Only doing kick turns and stuff but wants to do more
She has 54mm wheels would she be better with some bigger ones to help keep her speed
Any advice would be great
Vert skaters tend to use slightly bigger wheels of 58-60mm. Generally, though, it’s the size of the ramp and your ability to pump it that gets you the speed you need.
I had problems with 60mm wheels, lots of wheel rub issues (no risers)
56mm would be biggest I’d go, but would be great for bowls as well
If it’s a kid then I’d keep it 60mm or under
First set of wheels I ever had were 66mm bullets, weighed a ton and I was 10 I think
Yes for 60mm you need 1/8” risers. But 56mm wheels are a good size for big ramps and you don’t need risers
She might need a hand cranking her trucks tight enough to make this true.
First time trying Bones Super 6 bearings and the box includes spacers. I don’t think I’ve ever used them from memory.
Yay or nay?
I always do
Me too. They add no discernible weight to your board. But if the fit your wheels right (and wheels vary) they let you tighten your wheel nuts down without making your bearings lock up. If you like a smooth feel with minimal rattle, spacers are the way to go. They also prevent axle slip if the nuts are tight. If you like your wheels to rattle, go without
