Film Thread

I realised i haven’t been to the cinema at least since my son was born over 6 years ago, and probably a long time before that too.

Currently in a deep hole of listening to Kermode reviews as background for WFH.

About 10/15 years ago there were endless arguments about 3D fims.

Are films still made in 3D or has that died?

Perfect age for his first cinema film. Mine was Little Mermaid ffs.

Yeah, 3D is dead for now until someone tries to revive it with a new innovation. Avatar really kicked things off in '09 and then it all sort of petered out was done by about 2017.

I worked in the projector business a while back and they slowly phased out the capability. Customers would always complain that they couldn’t buy a new projector with 3D to watch all their 3D films on.

Ah. Nuce one…thats about the last time I went i guess.

I think my first cinema film was Aladdin, second was Jurassic Park. Not sure if that was the order.

Not bad.

Yeah, think Jurassic Park was my second too. Would be so sick to relive that again for the first time. Absolutely loved everything about it

Had you seen New Hope?

What an incredible first cinema trip.

We went to watch this on acid. I remember the close-up t-rex roar pushing me back in the seat.

Very interesting style choice on this one.

A Disney looking Animal Farm? Babe the totalitarianism years.

Isn’t Manor Farm a fictional English farm, right? - Voice cast, featuring Seth Rogen, Glenn Close, Woody Harrelson, Kathleen Turner… sigh

Definitely english and napoleon and snowball are supposed to be stalin and trotsky. Will have to wait and see if it is a master stroke to get those right wing american moms to take their kids in

Yeah the 1917 Russian Revolution but still… deliver a version that does Orwell’s message justice .. it looks and sounds awful from that one small article and one tiny picture, as far from Orwell’s version as any I’ve seen (from one small article and one tiny picture). We’ll see though, could be wrong.

Predator: Killer of Killers is really good…

Just watched it. Good fun.

Michael Biehn was in it playing Vandy. Cant remember which character that was, but does this add him to the list of people who’ve been killed by the terminator, an alien and a predator?

Starting to see 28 Years Later posters everywhere.

Danny Boyle, Alex Garland and Ralph Fiennes are all involved, so I’m fairly optimistic about it.

Didn’t know it’s going to be it’s own trilogy, the first two were shot back to back with the third to still film.

I unintentionally saw the cast for the second part of the trilogy… which made it clear that certain characters will not die in 28 Years Later. :man_facepalming:
