Incredible film. And fucking horrible too.
Horrible, but compulsively enjoyable at the same time. Itās dark but itās also bleakly humorous.
Got round to seeing 28 years later. Loved it. Itās come at the perfect time for this nostalgic fucker.
The seafood allergy joke had the whole cinema rolling.
Not to mention Samsonās mega dong.
Rewatched 28 days later and while people say it looks like shit because of the camera they used I think itās great. Really weights it in the time period and you cannot deny that they did incredible work with the majority of the shots. Makes the film in a way.
Edit: Just found this Danny Boyle commentary. Will have to rewatch with this on.
Also just came back from watching 28 years later. First 40 mins are pretty good then theres some bonkers stuff, then it picks up again and has a pretty wacky ending. Worth a watch i give it a 6/10.
This was a filming location mind. Remembered it from the excellent Island clip by Jim Craven.
F1 is huge fun. I only went to escape the hell that is my flat in the summer, having absolutely no interest in or knowledge of F1, but was pretty much glued to the screen.
The actual story isnāt as strong as something like Ford vs Ferrari, but Pitt elevates it and as pure visual spectacle it was pretty incredible. I saw it on the largest screen at Vue, Iād imagine if you saw it at imax youād feel like you were actually in the car.
Same here, fancied sitting in a dark air condition room for two hours at the weekend.
The race scenes were fantastic but everything else was so bad and generic. Damson Idris was cringeworthy and I didnāt get the focus on the blonde pit crew member. Kept seeming like it was going to develop her character but then just nothing, wonder if the story was just cut. The Formula 1 industry is just super lame and boring
Watched Rebel Ridge over the weekend. Itās so much fun. The trailer on Netflix makes it look like an action film, itās paced more like a thriller but with some sick Rambo style action sequences and American cops getting their comeuppance. Go in with low expectations and itās a great time.
Took my boy to the cinema for the first time today to watch the new Jurassic Park. My first cinema visit in probably 10 years too.
I cannot believe how good the seats have got. Iām still reeling from it. They were like recliner armchairs with loads of room to walk down the aisle and really high up from the people in front.
Barely noticed the filmā¦I was revelling in the seats the whole time. Is this a thing across the land or just in mega multiplexes?
For the record, my son loved it and put it behind Jurassic Park III on his list of best Jurassic Park films, which he inexplicably loves.
I was mainly confused why the actor who is essentially the main character isnāt in the trailer.
Yeah I took my daughter to lilo and stitch recently and had the same revelation. Not even like theyāre pay extra posh seats theyāre all good? Mental
My ten year old is all about Jurassic Park films.
We didnāt rank it but it was a lotta fun - her first time seeing this series on the big screen. We go to the cinema every couple of months - she was hyped to see Ghostbusters: Frozen Empire at the cinema, too. She now has a list of franchises she needs to see there. She wants to go watch and Indiana Jones film.
We already saw Home Alone 18 months ago at an Xmas screening at the Prince Charles. It was sickā¦packed cinema laughing at all the right points.
Anyhow - we saw it on Saturday. Beforehand she read a review out loud to me.
Basically the review was saying its an obvious film which ticks all the usual JP trope boxes. Which I kind of disagree with but itās basically right.
Her take on the reviewer was that he has walked in, knowing exactly what to expect and is acting surprised and thats daft.
āImagine going to see Jurassic Park and the dinosaurs are never on the loose and people arenāt in danger?!? This is exactly what a JP film should be and I donāt think he knows what he is looking forā
Iām still laughing. āI donāt think he knows what he is looking forā is a pretty incredible line.
My daughter said it was the least scary one yet. The plot is never really derailed no matter what happens to them, they just manage to get things done. Any peril lasts a few minutes and then theyāre fine. I thought the only real jump scare didnāt even involve a dinosaur but something else popping out.
Itās all very guessable. The effects are good though and it ticks along nicely I guess.
I told my daughter without thinking - ānot to worry as the kids never die in this franchiseā. Which has now completely broke the whole illusion of the films for her, oops.
