I know this is bah humbug but Iâm always happiest when we exit and let the good teams get on with playing. Does anyone honestly think we should win? Compared to Italy, Belgium, etc? National pride is fine but objectively weâre just a bit shit.
The last time we were seriously robbed was Lampard v Germany in 2010 when we should have equalised.
Weâve turned into Newcastle* as a national team, convinced we matter when we really donât just because weâre popular.
*Not picking on Newcastle but you know what I mean

Your first point was that the England team must be good at football since three of the four teams in the two big European finals this year were English. I just pointed out that only 9 of 44 players in those teams were actually eligible for the England squad.
Your second point seems to be that the best teams shouldnât win?
Not sure where youâre going with this but it seems to be a sore point for you so happy to drop it. England are just not good enough for me to get that worked up about it to be honest.

I donât hate my country or the team, Iâve just spent so much of the last 25 years getting let down that I donât care any more. Maybe itâs just antipathy? Cool that youâre still into it though. They need the support.

Loads of great teams have been undone by a lesser team in a tournament thatâs what makes them great and fun (unless itâs your team of course)!

Yes, I did. I think theyâll get to the final but not convinced itâs a done deal. Either Netherlands or Italy would give them problems, like Germany did even playing poorly.

This is the kind of pub conversation that put me off in the first place.
Personally I donât expect England to win the thing, Iâd just like a few performances I can get behind where we perhaps showcase the attacking talent we have. We all saw the second half v Croatia and the Scotland game; the passing was abysmal.
