It’s probably been one of the most lack lustre tournaments we’ve had . Not the hype and excitement of past. Spain however, have been Spain and I think it’s obvious that the finals are heavily on their side especially with an extra day rest.
Nope, just looking a gift horse in the mouth.
Portugal won in 2016 and Greece in 2004 despite playing poorly all the way, like England this time around, who really should be tearing the opponents to shreds but haven’t really. It happens, no matter how much you want to see your team go all guns blazing for 90 minutes.
Apologies I haven’t read a thing on here from today, fully soaking up the moment.
But bloody hell! So excited when Watkins scored his goal I quite literally lost my glasses off my face and didn’t notice. Was only a couple of minutes after the game kicked back off that I was staring at the screen at the pub wondering why it was blurry that I realised. WHAT A MOMENT!
They really did give off the temp agency staff turning up to work on day one.
Were definitely better as a team this game.
As a scot , I’m liking the wins because it’s a big fuck off to the racist side of this game and all the shit those young lads have had to take , which I hope they help extinguish at the finals
Speaking as someone who watched half the game last night (went to bed at half time) and watched with commentary off and doesn’t follow any football at all it just feels like they do what they usually do. Flashes of brilliance and scraping though. There’s never any domination. Was thoroughly impressed with England not missing a penalty in the last game (or this one!) so maybe that broke the spell. But like @hugo said I don’t understand the ranting at Southgate, no one knows the full story. They have done fine. But also done really well to make it to another final.
Football makes people so emotional. Might even watch the final!
I thought England played far more coherently in that first half than any other time during the tournament. If Foddn’s goals had gone in the score line would have been much larger.
