It’s probably been one of the most lack lustre tournaments we’ve had . Not the hype and excitement of past. Spain however, have been Spain and I think it’s obvious that the finals are heavily on their side especially with an extra day rest.

Maybe people are being more realistic?

Nope, just looking a gift horse in the mouth.
Portugal won in 2016 and Greece in 2004 despite playing poorly all the way, like England this time around, who really should be tearing the opponents to shreds but haven’t really. It happens, no matter how much you want to see your team go all guns blazing for 90 minutes.

Apologies I haven’t read a thing on here from today, fully soaking up the moment.

But bloody hell! So excited when Watkins scored his goal I quite literally lost my glasses off my face and didn’t notice. Was only a couple of minutes after the game kicked back off that I was staring at the screen at the pub wondering why it was blurry that I realised. WHAT A MOMENT!

I get that but England are in the finals?

I think you can happily say England have been crap but really enjoy the moment, if we can do a Greece ‘04 then great!

They really did give off the temp agency staff turning up to work on day one.
Were definitely better as a team this game.

As a scot , I’m liking the wins because it’s a big fuck off to the racist side of this game and all the shit those young lads have had to take , which I hope they help extinguish at the finals

Yeah but Spain really are on another level .

  • We played shit in the group. Got a bit better tonight.
  • Gareth has probably run the course.
  • Hope we win the final but won’t feel bad if we don’t, Spain are best team.
  • That’s it

Yeah and they’ll probably win and it’ll be dramatic and exciting to watch :man_shrugging:t2:

Fucking fuck

For once England fans will know what it’s like to be Scottish trying to get to a tournament , probably lose but absolute ecstasy if they win

England are winning despite of Southgate, not because of him.

I agree but we’re in the final now so why not just enjoy? We all know how his club career went.

So many armchair managers

Southgate isn’t lucky or stupid or inexperienced

Do you see every training session and the strategic meetings with staff and all the players?

Do you see what’s happening in the dressing room and understand the players confidence levels and fitness levels and anything else that’s going on?

You don’t, you see the players play for their clubs at the weekends

Just because you don’t understand Southgate’s decision making, it doesn’t mean he’s wrong and you’re right

He hasn’t lost the players, so I’m not sure why he’s losing the fans

Looked a lot better. Second Euro Final in a row, fingers and toes crossed for the weekend.

Because we aren’t winning 4-0 every game when we should.

Speaking as someone who watched half the game last night (went to bed at half time) and watched with commentary off and doesn’t follow any football at all it just feels like they do what they usually do. Flashes of brilliance and scraping though. There’s never any domination. Was thoroughly impressed with England not missing a penalty in the last game (or this one!) so maybe that broke the spell. But like @hugo said I don’t understand the ranting at Southgate, no one knows the full story. They have done fine. But also done really well to make it to another final.

Football makes people so emotional. Might even watch the final!

I thought England played far more coherently in that first half than any other time during the tournament. If Foddn’s goals had gone in the score line would have been much larger.
