Gone Skateboarding?

Thank you gents. Gallbladder removal surgery is a pretty common and safe procedure, I’m not worried by that. Going to the clinic early tomorrow, should be back home late in the afternoon, might even see my hens before they go to sleep. :upside_down_face:

No way, my dad is in hospital and had a gallbladder operation today. I’m around his now, sorting out the dog. He was in a lot of pain with his but he’s 72.

Have a speedy recovery :flexed_biceps::skateboard:

I had mine removed in Sept last year. Was having quite bad symptoms for a while before they diagnosed me with gallstones. The op was nice and straight forward and all went well. Simple keyhole so no awful scars afterwards. Was in and out on the same day. The worst part of it is the bloating afterwards due to the gas they use to inflate your abdomen. It took a good few days to go away and was quite uncomfortable. Otherwise recovery was pretty good once that settled. Feel 100 times better since and have had no issues. Lots of people mentioned low fat diets etc afterwards but I still eat exactly the same as before and have no problems at all. Hope it goes well and you’re all healed and back on the board soon mate.

Haha! Thanks mate. I hope your dad is ok.

Thanks man. My mum picked me up and drove me back home, I got here as my hens were going to sleep, perfect timing. The mountains seemed to be alright too. :upside_down_face:

Merci frérot !

Glad you’re feeling better mate.

As I mentioned before those silly gallstones but also fatty liver disease and stress were an incredible combo for mad insomnia those last months but I’m getting better with that and today’s surgery should definitely help.
Got the same treatment as you, simple keyholes, in and out today. Can feel the gas in my torso now, my shoulders hurt but it’s very tolerable.
Changed my diet 5 or 6 weeks ago, nothing crazy, just adapted it with less sugar, less fat and more veggies, lost about 8 or 9 kilos since Christmas! Good thing.
I can ride my bike again in 3 weeks and skate again in 6 weeks. Gonna draw and walk a lot until then. :slightly_smiling_face:

Take care mate.

Just remembered I filmed a clip yesterday, didn’t post it on my Instawanker stories because I fucked up the framing but the composition and the light were kinda cool I thought (cool as cold too, yeah, haha). I should try to nollie flip out of this. Could do those when I was younger. We’ll see what happens. Posting it on here as you guys should like the backdrop.

Did some jumping about last night but nothing noteworthy. Happy days. Hoping to get out again tonight, then Derby tomorrow.

Tell that to my brother in law. He had his gallbladder removed a few months ago and is still doubling over in pain and running to the loo after meals becuase he hasn’t changed his diet at all. It’s so terrible for him, way too high in fat and hyper-processed foods.

Weirdly though, I recently got diagnosed with something called bile acid malabsorption, which is common in people who had their gallbladder removed (I have mine). Three years of worsening symptoms where I thought I was dying, 3 specialists seen, and I finally get given some tablets and all my symptoms immediately go away. Got to take them for the rest of my life, and have had to give up olive oil and pastries as well, but it’s a small price to pay.

Anyway… I haven’t skated since October

I’ve been ok I think as I don’t really eat too bad anyway. Mostly freshly cooked meals and not too much junk. Still like a bag of crisps and chocolate here and there but don’t eat loads of it.

Might be a need for a gallbladder removal thread at this rate!
