Gone Skateboarding?

Back at the local with my son in tow. Taught him how to push along and he’s now riding down the mellower flat banks.

Still sore from last night so nothing happening for me. Might come back with my daughter tomorrow.

Actually went skateboarding for the first time in 2 and a half years and was street skating for probably the first time in 7 years! Managed to get a clip for an edit a few of the boys are making so chuffed about that. Turns out skateboarding is fun, who knew?!

Triple threat - skated Friday, Saturday and Sunday. Friday solo, Saturday with my lad and Sunday with my daughter.

Daughter learnt to drop in from axle stall tonight which was rad.

I got a lot of pleasure from doing backside 50-50’s on a little quarter which can’t be more than 1.5ft high. They felt sooooo good . Far better than the video footage haha.

I’m fucked. Gonna have to stop drinking to afford going so to the park so much at this rate…not a bad thing eh?

Been out a few times this week but managed to get a session without my kids around.

Did a couple of frontside 50-50’s on the little 1/4 and I think it could be a new learn for me. I can’t ever remember doing them before. Of course the one I filmed looks like dogshit so I’ll have to get a better one haha.

Went skating tonight had a great time but fucking hell progression is in reverse. Feel like a right spanner riding a skateboard.

Great time are the two most important words there though ha

Stella mate , craft beer was at the pub next to Westbourne Park station after :joy:

But that was one of the best nights I’ve been to in a long time , atmosphere and vibe was so good , I really recommend it if anyone can make it , it’s busy but chill , people killing but the same appreciation for the learners. Everyone chatting and hyped .
Hopefully get there for the next one

Last month or so on the DIY, mostly just showing progress but a couple tricks sprinkled in there as well. Hoping to get a qp done before the bad weather sets in.

Love the fuck out of this for the historical stuff about the crane bed and so on. That’s sick and I hope it lasts a while. My old spot was part of a decommissioned power station site. Long gone and just a tarmac road with a fairly new unit, earmarked for redevelopment before covid which doesn’t seem to have happened.

Where I was skating was just after the end of the railway lines at the bottom of the picture. I really loved that spot, really peaceful when I wasn’t clattering around the gaff on my skateboard.

Went skating again last night, enjoyed myself but just felt really down about it even though I didn’t really aim to do anything. Said to my Mrs when I got back I’ve come to miss having my daughter around - she isn’t into skating at the moment so doesn’t want to come skating with me.

Maybe the feeling down is something to do with peripheral bleed from real life which skating normally blocks out, I don’t know. Whatever, I’m talking crap.

tldr - felt miserable, skated and enjoyed it I think, but still felt miserable.

Yeah that’s sick, I love it when a spot has a bit of history to it. At ours there’s this fella who walks a malinois there daily, got talking to him and his father used to work on the crane site so he gave a bit of history which got me curious. Every now and then he also tells us about any usable materials he’s spotted, like those drain covers for instance which were in some landfill on the hill at the top of the spot. I found a bunch of old images too which you’d probably be interested in:

17 is the plot we’re on. In the IG post I sent where I do the wallie out of the kicker you can see a building in the background, which is in the top left of the picture below. There’s still some crane rails embedded in the floor too.
