Im not. This is a particularly open minded collection of mainly 30 year old generally tolerant rational people.
Id be happy to spend a couple of hours talking to pretty much anyone in here if I was sat next to them in a pub or on a train as there generally aren’t any constant regular posters on here who are viciously misaligned with the general consensus, i.e. theyre not horrible cunts.
The ones that are and do hold those (imho abhorrent) views cite “echo chamber” because people don’t agree and usually leave
I’m a 37 white father from the home counties, I don’t pretend I know what its like being a minority and having to deal with years of oppression, institutionalised racism and disadvantage but I do have the ability to call bullshit out when I see it or experience it and see it as everyone’s collective responsibility to try and leave the world and society in a better condition than we found it.
I always chuckle when people complain about echo chambers when they get called out for their opinions.
The whole reason they were able to get called out is because they got a chance to voice their opinion in the first place. They can never comprehend that they’re unpopular because they’re a shitbag. It’s always someone else’s fault.
It’s not like this place gets censored. And it’s almost impossible to get banned from here, yet it works very well. I think that says a lot about the people on here.
See all the tweets in that link above about Piers Morgan being allowed an opinion. He fucking WAS allowed an opinion, my opinion is that his opinion is a shit one.
By the same token, I probably wouldn’t walk into a spoonies in Stoke and yell “Queen’s a cunt”. I choose my audience.
No link to Fox - for what it’s worth I think he’s chosen the wrong place to stand for mayor. London is very different to the rest of the country in terms of its politics. He’d have a much better chance in the Midlands or North East
…leads me to believe you might not be in the right job. Or, that you might never have really taken on the views of those skateboarders around you during your lifelong pursuit. Which in turn makes me think you might not be in the right job.
Do you read skate mags currently or have you in the past? Do you consume any skate media? Do you notice ads, brands direction of such things?
In all honesty, what you are saying here comes across like the skate version of this guy:
You’d be surprised how woke I can be when I put my mind to it. I’m currently working on a Pride project for an international retailer, focussing on intersectionality. Regular meetings with trans activists and people who describe themselves as nonbinary where I have to announce my pronouns and tell them what I identify as before we get down to business. No shit
No - I don’t read skate mags now but I look at skate sites online. I’m thinking of getting the new U.K. mag, though. I tend to mainly notice ads for skate companies that have an offering for transition skaters rather than street. I’m quite into new deck technology and materials so I always notice when someone launches a new construction
Part of my job is monitoring comments on fb ads and its genuinely frightening how many ruddy faced shitcunts use the word woke.
It’s getting pumped into them somewhere and they’re shitting it out everywhere like thick worker bees. The telegraph and the mail and the express and all that just needs to simply fuck right off. Proper garbage in garbage out stuff.
