Not gunna lie. Have bet on horses in the past but stopped before Grand National last year.
I had detracted myself from it. Ex brother in laws brother part owns a horse that I won decent enough money on, but didnât really think about how rank it actually is.
Iâve been to Siena in Italy and watched the palio live from the middle of the town square. Itâs a mad horse race on a mostly cobbled town square for bragging rights. Horses and people die quite often. Two horses were put down while we were there
It was exciting to watch the race but then the aftermath was awful. Asked our Italian friend about the casualties and he said that the horses race for glory. If they die then itâs a glorious death fulfilling their goal. People are insane. Anything to satisfy our boredom

I donât trust horses. Once whilst I was cycling up a steep hill, a horse reared up at me and I thought the thing was going to crush me! The child in charge of it did nothing. I fell off into the road. Bastard things!

Reading that made me daydream about Crufts having a new dog fighting event for the runners up at the end of the show. 2 vs 1 tag team event, with 2 Dachshunds vs a Cocker poodle.
