In the news thread

Because they are all are, it’s all truth dressed up. They have all watched The Thick of It and want to be a bit Malcolm Tucker. Nobody should be made to apologise for what they actually think if they still think it. I don’t think anyone could change their minds on those specific opinions about those people.

I think The Thick of It is based on them, than the other way around, it’s always been toxic. Not just this crop of career politicians … Cummings owns his use of swearing and doesn’t apologise (in no way sticking up Cummings, ect).

It was inconceivable that The Thick of it was actually a documentary when it came out but seems, along with The Apprentice that it was the handbook of how to be a politician for todays bunch.

Yeah, but isn’t that like saying police racism only exists still because they watched a TV show about old policing and are playing up to it, not that it’s an ingrained toxic culture that has just be allowed to continue and normalised and so on? Maybe not.

I think politics attracts a certain type of Michael Fabricant far too often unfortunately (not all them are though). So a Michael Fabricant will act like a Michael Fabricant, tv show or not.

I have my tongue in my cheek with every comment, just so you know.
The police analogy doesn’t really work either even if I was weirdly serious about it.
Lets just say, in simple terms, in recent years politics seems to have gone a little more crazy, politicians are more stupid and cunty, happily and openly gaslighting the public etc etc. Whether that’s a fact or that it’s just more visible now, I don’t know. It just seems that way, cool?

All the kids at school were talking about this today and none of them watch the news or read the papers so it must’ve breached Tik Tok as a trending thing I guess.

What a weenie.

What an absolute fuckwit of the highest order she is. Just repeating Tory dogma about not contributing… FFS.

There are other people that should be contributing, if they were made to, they could turn this country around. But contributing isn’t the main issue for them.

Aside from money and being slightly lower on the Michael Fabricant-o-meter how is this different from the case Elon musk won after calling a guy a peado on twitter?

American courts where the rules around defamation make it harder to win apparently. Also Musk probably has better lawyers.

It’s was a British guy suing in a British court, as you say assume it comes down to money.

Ah my bad I thought it was a uk court!

Mr Musk told the court this week the phrase “pedo guy” was common in South Africa, where he grew up.

Hmm, not sure on that one.

I must be missing something because I can’t see how they’d reach that verdict.

Microchips in their brains.

On the Laurence Fox front, some evidence from court. Oh dear.

Also is that Emily Maitlis with a Ben Raemers sticker on her Mac?
