So Trump signs an executive order for TikTok to be sold or banned. 4 years later the Supreme Court upholds the order so TikTok shuts down. Trump then assures them the ban won’t be enforced, so they come back online with a message to all users thanking him for saving the app from his own ban order. He then makes $43 billion and becomes one of the richest men in the world overnight through supposedly pulling the rug on a shitcoin which in fact seems to be a payment for revoking the ban. And now Americans are waking up to this? Facebook, Twitter and now TikTok. We’re witnessing the establishment of state run media in the US

Trump is basically a reality TV president. People want to see him do crazy shit from day one, both for the entertainment value and for his ability to get audiences shouting at the TV. It’s no accident he was the face of The Apprentice for years.

I’d like to hope that the system and a fragile majority will keep a check on some of the worst excesses. But who knows anymore.
