It was the largest one day protest in US history, overtaking the one that happened the first time he got elected

Article I read said Earth Day in the 70s was 20 million people.

Bombing Iran then announcing ā€œNOW IS THE TIME FOR PEACEā€ is a bit of a stretch

Nukes that don’t exist…. again

Weird times. An ipsos poll published today suggests the tories are on the way to extinction and Farage on the way to Downing Street:

if a general election were held tomorrow, a Reform government would be elected on 34 per cent of the vote, putting Reform leader Nigel Farage in 10 Downing Street as Prime Minister with a massive majority. Labour would be reduced to 25 per cent, and the Tories to just 15 per cent and a pathetic rump of just ten seats or so in Parliament. The remaining Westminster crumbs would be divided between the Lib Dems (11 per cent) and the Greens (9 per cent) giving each only a handful of seats.

Iran launches missiles at US base… oh fuck, here we really go.

This is about to go fucking mental!

Bases will have been empty, there’s no way that’s happening without a warning. Hopefully it means Iran can act like they’ve retaliated and go back to ā€˜normal’.

Where are we on the potential WWIII scale?

Isn’t there a status quo for leaders who are down in the polls ahead of elecions to start a war…?

Pretty unlikely. What’s the UK going to do, @h_palmer627?

Trump can’t be elected again, even if he wants to. You only get two terms in America, even with a break between them, so this is his second.
As Build says there is potential for deescalation from this now but also massive escalation too, we’ll have to wait and see Trumps next move, or if Russia now gets involved which can potentially happen.

Unbelievable.

Yeah but if he did some how manage to get himself up for a third term (which won’t happen) then people are saying Obama can run too, haha. As Obama would smoke Trump in an election.

Hes going to do everything he can to stay in i reckon, bribery, intimidation, whatever it takes.

Trump’s painted himself into a corner with Iran.

He said any retaliation would be met with an even bigger counter attack.

So what’s he going to do? Despite being the ā€œanti-war presidentā€, attack Iran again? Or appear weak and do nothing.

He’s going to attack again as the last thing he does is allow himself to look weak.

That’s my armchair theory anyway.

TACO (Trump Always Chickens Out), hopefully it holds true this time too.

I’m not sure. I don’t think we have the funds or people to go to war.

It used to be that us, the USA and a few other countries were able to war and be able to sustain themselves at war. Currently there are more people leaving the armed forces then are joining. I think the army is down to around 80k people now, not all of those will be deployable. No doubt we will have sneaky beaky people deployed doing stuff.

Hopefully we’ll start joining up with Europe now anyway than just going along with America as Trump basically told us all to go do our own thing anyway.

Britain and Germany on the same side for once, Team Europe fuck yeah! Haha.

Watched the Simon Reeve Scandinavia series on iPlayer and learned the Finns have the most artillery pieces after Russia and a standby army of nearly a million and the Swedes are the global 3rd biggest arms producers in the world. NATO seems like maybe it’s not as reliant on US as you might first assume.
