Yes but I donât understand them lol. French people have a different sensibility then the English with politics I find. Itâs not so much at the front of things with most people. When you are not from somewhere you are somewhat blissfully ignorant of these things. The incredible food and scenery helps too. And so much cheaper. And Tom Penny

Tbh southwest france biarritz, bordeaux etc are safe. More Toulouse way it gets weird.
When I moved to Lyon, I hardly spoke French but the first few kids I met were full on racists. The neighbourhood the main skateshop and I lived in were racist hubs. The printshop next to the skateshop printed all the hateful flyers and stickers that you saw everywhere. The skaters and skate scene were a good antidote to all that.

I think the trouble is that most of the reform voters are ok, as in, even though many are considered poor on paper they are stable financially to a point where they know that whoever is in power, what they have in their life will remain. Whether they consistently scrape by week to week as their norm or are killing it as a brickie. They will never be above or below where they are whoever is running the country. Reform have just created a problem out of nothing playing on the basic human need to tittle tattle. Reform voters have just been hoodwinked into hating people based on an old idea that was and should have died out by now, we were getting there. They believe itâs these people that will change their lives for the worse, not any government.
Reform are full of stupids but they have corrupt Michael Fabricants in their ears telling them how to use the people stupider than them.
Of course, being stupid doesnât always mean youâre a bad person. Plenty of reform voters are nice enough people but they have been easily manipulated.

Personally, I think the metoo thing, closely followed by the blm thing, was too much for the brains of alot of white men here. Terms like unconscious bias and white privilege or intersectionality were simply too much for the fragile white English sensibility. Any admission of culpability for colonialism is seen as self hatred and weakness, when in fact there is so much to be proud of in this country for the post war generation and how we have integrated together. Nothing makes me prouder of this country than being at Notting Hill Carnival. Itâs lovely.
Racism always comes from the top down in this country. The working classes are the ones who have made it work on the ground.
