Any Labour leader has to expect to be absolutely savaged by our terrible, corrupt and bought press. I think it is more that McSweeney etc misread the electorate by trying to appeal to the right as much as they did. Straight away they took the winter fuel payments from pensioners, then hammered disabled people more when it’s hard to see how there was anything left after the Tories. Right wing immigration policies, " nation of strangers ". Mandleson a complete disaster that he will never shake off. It isn’t all the Daily Mail making this stuff up. The right hate Labour more than they ever have so pissing off your traditional voters was never a very clever move. I hear Burnham is bringing David Milliband back. Not sure what to make of that.

Yeah, but it’s a balance, there’s a greater freedom you have in opposition to speak your mind and seem more authentic because it’s a lot easier to reverse course or backtrack. Don’t really want to be in a situation where the country is stuck with some dumb shit that just popped into the leader’s head that day like in America.

Agreed but I do think it is deeper than that. The whole Mandleson/Epstein saga is very far from over. I’m surprised he didn’t go after that tbh. I think it was only because there wasn’t a candidate.

That horse as bolted, Boris Johnson would talk absolute claptrap as PM and morons loved it.

It’s not so much appealing to the right, it’s that they have pretty much become the right. Glasman was the only Labour figure invited to Trumps inauguration. They’re in the Thiel/Palantir tech bro fascist club and people don’t like it

You’re not suggesting our press are even handed with how they cover the left and the right are you? Come on now

Of course I’m not saying that, Farage has always had far to much unbalanced representation on any political stage even when he was a non-entity in the political world for one. He was/is on any and every show.

I think we’ve let it go too far, the media has it’s side now, there is no going back for them unless the public revolt. Any left leaning politician is going to have to put up with smear after smear until they either break down or break ‘falling down’.

I do not like Starmer one bit but I am just looking back to how it was with the tories and just don’t want anything like that again. Mick Lynch would be a great politician but appreciate he doesn’t want that job.

That’s just how it is but I am heartened lately by people seeming to be savvier than they were ten years ago, despite all the slop and noise. The old media ways are dying so it’s a very interesting time. The next GE’s here and in the states are massive. Interesting what Mamdani is doing in NY.

All the tropes about London being an Isis controlled no go area seem to be falling on deaf ears a bit more and the grifters are getting exposed for what they are a bit more.

I think something really shifted after Oct 7th and with current Trump admin. People are over it on all sides

Look at all the shit Sadiq Khan puts up with but he still manages to do a good job despite it all

What are they thinking.

There are a lot of unknown protected habitats along river banks that they don’t want people just stomping through with bin bags and unintentionally disturbing or destroying rare breeding and nesting grounds, ect, who’s locations are kept secret because of poaching and such for all of their good intentions.
If people less knowledgeable start copying them it will only get worse. I get they are just trying to do a nice thing and on the surface it is very admirable.

Anyway this made me laugh and on point about British wild life…

That I agree with, would be better if they did a better job themselves but there it is.

Yeah I should of added this at the end… I get they are just trying to do a nice thing and on the surface it is very admirable given how shit water companies are with their massive profits, also destroying it themselves too with sewage dumping, ect.

This all seems a bit unlikely but OK How the hell do you sell £200,000 worth of remix cds?

Must know his way around a mash up lol

Keir Starmer is such a great bloke, he’d never use protecting children to advance the wishes of the tech bros and their surveillance state, would he? No tin foil needed with this lot. Heather Burns is worth following. The OSA is well sketchy

Gang warfare breaks out in southwest France.
There was a turf war between the beach pétanque massive and the crew from the town boulodrome, and it was only a matter of time before someone got killed. Wouldn’t surprise me if wine and cheese were involved too.

So there you go - I must be psychic. The reason the Putney Pusher was arrested after 9 years was that his estranged partner turned him in.
