correct, soundgarden are diabolically shit.
Yeah pretty sure I missed them. One thing I remember is the number of metal heads passed out on the floor by the middle of the afternoon, missing everything.
I remember buying a cassette single of theirs back when they came out, as they were being pushed as the next Nirvana or something. Was fairly disgusted by the AOR MOR mushy shit I was greeted wiith
Ah it wouldn’t be a proper metal occasion if there wasn’t a significant amount of people passed out too early
I went for a mac’n’cheese during Soundgarden, and found £20 on the floor, which got me a bottle of nasty wine. Result!
Soundgarden are rubbish? fuck this forum
Even Floooooow – yuck, that fuckin voice, he’s singing in the Vic and Bob club style
Pearl Jam can fuck off as well
Errrr that’s Pearl Jam.
But yes, Nazoreth, I’m afraid Soundgarden are toilet and it’s high time you faced facts
next you guys will be underappreciating Alice in Chains
absolute heathens
Oh. Well Pearl Garden, whatever, it’s lame
Also crap. Soz. Just watched them at Villa Park, turned out it was a good time to have a chat and smoke cigs (and I quit cigs in 2017)
Don’t worry Naz, i’ll back you.
Soundgarden are a bit Meh overall but they do have some off kilter bangers hidden away. Limo Wreck is quirky dark. Day I tried to live is great too.
Alice in Chains, Dirt is a phenomenal album, don’t care what anyone says. I also like Pearl Jam Vs.
I don’t think Slayer can ever do wrong, they created the perfect metal that can just be belted out at any age and never sound dated. Every other band of the time, before and after all age and considerably more when played live.
Lombardo IS slayer! Reign/South/Seasons are the greatest trilogy in metal, even though people will argue Ride/Master/Justice.
There was a clear change in Slayer after Seasons, Divine intervention really lacked something. It must have been Lombardo’s groove and ride work.
Incidentally, does pearl jam mean jizz?
oooooooooooooh that’s a controversial opinion right there
it falls down because kill em all / ride / master / justice is a better four album run than hell awaits / reign / south / seasons
i love show no mercy but hell awaits just ain’t it.
and justice for all is, in my opinion, the best thrash (and potentially any genre) metal album of all time. perfectly balanced. has blackened on it etc.
i don’t think Slayer have any albums that are “no skip”
seems so. Awful band name.
Then again, most band names are terrible! That is one of the worst though.
Wrong.
on which bit ![]()
Best album all depends on whether you’re a listener or musician and what kind of musician.
Rust in Peace is possibly at the top if I have my Guitar thinking head on. But Reign in Blood if i’m going on feel and energy. Justice is the best Metallica if I had to choose. Of course this is only from that era of metal.
Well, it’s a bit pointless of me to argue, because our tastes obviously differ.
But basically Metallica are not as good as Slayer, never have been, never will be. I never liked them, apart from the intro to ‘For Whom The Bells Toll’, ‘Harvester Of Sorrow’ until it gets boring, and their cover of ‘Breadfan’. That’s it.
Dave Lombardo summed it up for me in this programme, he said when he first listened to the black album he took it off the turntable and threw it down the stairs. Good lad.
Edit: just realised I’ve linked to a Spanish-dubbed version of this programme. Oops.
I don’t believe you should listen to anything as anything other than a listener, or you’re doing it wrong
