I likes it
slowly chomping through this playlist - Resident Advisor’s Best Electronic tracks from the past 25 years. some beaty gems for sure
i heard a interview with Marshall Jefferson, where he said Beatport were releasing 10,000 new tracks a week in the 2010s.
how in the fuck could you sort through that lot, haha
Damn. Was and am a huge fan of Black Dog Productions and early Black Dog stuff when it was Ken and the Plaid boys.
Bummer. I love all the old BDP stuff. Thanks for your efforts, Ken.
Big fan of the early stuff, I wonder which bits of Bytes he did… R.I.P
Thanks I’ll give them a listen later with that in mind
You don’t get that much 6/8 techno/electronica. An all-time favourite this one.
Just had a moment of confusion/insanity because I love that Xeper tune so I thought fuck it I’ll put on the Bytes LP and looked at the track names on the discs and couldn’t find Xeper but I knew it was on there so what the hell is going on have I never actually owned that tune? But I must have because I’ve loved it since the early 90s and then I noticed that Xeper is actually listed as the artist name while the track is called Carcerus Ex Novum or something like that anyway panic over it’s the tune I thought it was and it’s located where it always was so all is good and well in the state of Denmark
I think it was also on the Trance Europe Express compilation
Yeah it is on that comp. Slightly different mix with more freestyle piano.
Ah, I sold that yonks ago. Still got the little book somewhere though
Also, just listened to Music For Adverts for the first time in years, really enjoyed it, it’s a bit like a Bytes bonus disc
Hadn’t noticed it was different. Got that on tape recently for £3 or something. Rinsed it when it first came out!

Got the last hour of this
Sitting in the spare room listening to the vinyl copy of Hand It Over by Dinosaur Jr I got for Xmas, genuinely the most peaceful hour I’ve spent over this Xmas period of family commitments
