Hand It Over and People Hold On are both great for lots of their own reasons.
10/10.

oh wow. RIP Ken Downie.
Bytes is a classic, spanners is good too. I’m a fan of Plaid, Spokes is their best output and really unsung but I have only dipped in and out of Black dogs later stuff. Some of his solo bits and some bits and bobs when the Dust Brothers joined. I did like Radio Scarecrow.
That’s fucking good.
If anyone is up I’ve got a set on the etc show shortly (currently 7.30am saturday) here:
Edit, I think… can’t work out their timetable. Good show so far either way
Right my set is on now for an hour (5-6 ish)
Ambient techno vibes
Enjoying this album ‘LOTTO’ by They Are Gutting A Body Of Water.
I’ll always be a sucker for shoegaze that wears its influences on its sleeve. Going to see them in Leeds at The Brudenell in a couple weeks too.
2 tickets purchased for Sugar in Glasgow in June, never caught them first time round and the earlier announced London gigs were going to be too pricey for me, so this makes me insanely happy

Hey Clackers
Were you in Sheff in ‘98 and did you see them play at that Kelham Island thing? Along with Herbert and some other folks
I was there and over the years my memory of it has become so vague that I wasn’t even sure that it happened, had to look it up to confirm to myself that it did: https://bocpages.org/wiki/Gigs
I honestly can’t remember much of it, Herbert/Dr Rockit was more memorable as I think he was live sampling a kettle and a toothbrush to make beats
Fuck, look at the flyer… I can’t remember most of it. IIRC, Tortoise didn’t play. But I might have just missed them, I’ll have nipped outside for a rollie or something
I haven’t fequented music forums in a few years now so if you do see any DLs of these and you grab them, could you link me as a big favour please?
I was there, aye. My memory’s a bit patchy too, but great to see that flyer again!! Shame the much-discussed Test Two never materialised.
BoC dj’d (like the flyer says) and it was pretty lowkey tbh. I think their set started shortly after I walked in iirc and they dropped this, which made me very happy.
Squarepusher was actually my personal highlight from that day. Skam’s Rob Hall played a great set outside too. Weirdly I just ID’d a tune that he used to play a lot just last week and the first time I ever heard it was when he dropped it in that day. He was a right twat about it when I asked him what it was.
I was pretty spaced by the end of the day and watched whatever was last in the main room from on top of a scaffolding rig I’d climbed up. Foolish in that state. The rest… is kinda lost to mists of time unfortunately.
Did you ever used to come to any of those nights I used to put on @Hadenough? We used to sell tickets in Sumo.
Ha, I knew you’d have been there.
Now that you’ve mentioned it, I remember some scaffolding shenanigans too. It’s all a bit of a blur
Yeah I went to a couple of those I think…. similar blurred memories.
(Not because I was off my face or anything. It was just a loooong time ago!)
