Sorry for your loss :frowning: It hits hard. It took me twenty years to consider getting another dog after my retriever, Skipper, passed on. It took another five years to actually do it and get my little cocker spaniel. They really are your best friend. So sad when they go but after time the pain does fade and you just remember the good stuff. Hang in there.

Really sorry to hear about this.
RIP Russ

I cried for 3 weeks when my first chickens were killed by a fox or a weasel or fuck knows what one night. Opened their coop in the morning and it was empty, well, there were just feathers everywhere and nothing else. Horrible.
2 other chickens I had died of old age this summer. I buried them in the woods and wrote their name on a rock so they have like a grave or something. I know their carcasses probably got dug up and eaten by a fox hours after I buried them but doing this helped me cope with their loss. I encourage you to do something vaguely similar. Any kind of ceremony or anything that helps you turn the page will do you good.

Thank you dudes! The messages I’ve had from people have all been so nice. I was sort of under the impression that most people would be like “It’s just a dog” but really it seems like the majority completely get why it hurts so much.

Much love to you all

They are never ‘just a dog’. They all have their own personalities and are very much a part of your family.

Much love.

Sorry to hear this. Lots of us got it and it wasn’t that bad. It takes a while but it’s not too crazy. Good luck. Drink a lot of water.

Sat on the sofa with my 11 month old dog asleep on my lap now. Cherishing the moment after reading this. Sorry for your loss pal.

To be honest I only got a test like last time as a precaution. My boy, 3 has had general school sniffles and cough for about 5 days. The school said when I asked then originally on returning if we should take him out of class if this happened they said its seasonal and if everyone did that there would be no kids in all winter. So played it by ear on that advice.

Sunday I took him to his football club thing in a freezing cold sports hall then for ice cream in freezing cold ice cream place. His sniffles had passed at this point. We got home and I was freezing for about 2 hours. Missus stated to get cough and feel cold. She works from home and is isolated anyway. I felt bit shitty Sunday evening. Couldn’t get warm. Had a beer but really didn’t fancy it. Went to bed in all my clothes and gradually stripped as I finally warmed up. Sweated like fuck in the night. Which tbh I do from time to time anyways. Woke up feeling fine. Remnants of a cough. Went to work and felt ok. Got test on way home to be sure yesterday. Then watched tv and drank 4 beers.

Tonight still ached at bit and bit of a cough but did 5x 3 min round skipping. 8x 3 min round on heavy bag. Then 10 mins of skip thai knees on heavy bag .

Felt pretty normal really. Then got positive test result on text. I think looking back symptom wise i probably started having symptoms like a cold last Thursday. So if that’s the case I got 5 days isolation to go. I’ve contacted everyone I’ve had contact with, which is a hand full of people and minimal. So I have either been very mild and lucky or not gone full blown yet. But I think I’ve peaked with my bad night of sweating and stuff as pre and post that I’ve felt fine. I’m sitting here after a pretty intense work out today drinking whiskey on ice . Bit tired but I think I’ve had it pretty mild. I only got a test to be cautious really. Probably got off quite lightly. But I’m also convinced this is my second dose ad in sure I had it much worse in February.

Also bit me on the arse as I called my missus a rules nerd for suggesting we change our Christmas plans with family. Even though we both planned to get tests on 22nd the isolated til Christmas day to be safe. 10 minutes later I have to eat a positive test. Haha wanker

Just been told by the app I have to self-isolate.

does it tell you who you were near?

Nope. Just someone I was near has tested positive so I need to self-isolate.

But my Mum and Step-Dad who live me don’t have to because I don’t have symptoms. Shits retarded.

Our nextdoor neighbours (in same building) are all isolating because 3 of their kids teachers just tested positive. No test results yet but one of them has a fever today. Hope they’re ok. And hopefully I haven’t picked it up front the shared front door or anything!

I’m just vexed, don’t see Arthur this weekend, and I can’t around walk to do Pokemon GO to be honest.
