Still here I think but keeping its head down. We are going away at the weekend so wife’s parents are looking after the dog and keeping her a couple of days after so hopefully in that time the mouse comes out from hiding again and can get caught.
Bloody dog pulled of part of the skirting board trying to find it behind which all our wiring is and pulled out part of the ring main, lucky she didnt get zapped.
First day back in the office (urgh!) One of the guys is on holiday in Barbados. The photo updates on the team WhatsApp have begun! Hope a coconut falls on his toe!
if they’re on holiday and posting updates of the trip to work people then they have some series work/life problems and you should pity them. i bet his partner is stoked he’s sat on his phone
Had a remortgage meeting with a consultant and for no reason other than “Tories” we’re due to pay almost 50% more on our fixed rate 5 yr which means I can retire in about 50 years and live comfortably for maybe 12 minutes.
Mine renews in May, struggling to find a 2yr fix. Frustrating as we were hoping to move but our mortgage increase is going to cost what we were hoping to move into
Mine renews in April, the best I have is an offer at 5.06% with HSBC so far … hopefully I find something else. It’ll be a few hundred quid extra a month to find, fucking bastards.
Nationwide. It’s not as bad as it sounds, our house is cheap (just over £600pm) but we fixed for 2 years intending to move nearer to my work where it’s about 1/3 more expensive at the end of our 2 years. Our renewal is around £800 which is still affordable, but even if it passed the affordability I can’t justify jumping to £1300 to move to the other side of Plymouth.
Are you employed by an Australian business? if so, the standard PAYE tax stuff should prevent any nasty surprises. If you’re in an industry where you can deduct things, the ~$250 to have an accountant submit your tax return is worth it.
My issue was totally self inflicted and an unusual chain of events.
