We’re pretty good too but if you have next day delivery items and your courier doesn’t pick up there’s nothing you can do about it. People get confused about weekends/working days, and every single bad experience with shipping results in a negative review online. I can see it was much the same for SS20 as it is at CSC.
It’s kind of better to underpromise and over deliver. People are a lot more abusive of free shipping these days too…you get people ordering multiple sizes of stuff and then you have to wait a week or two and all but one get returned. Annoying when it’s something hot like the new Reynolds shoe or some Carpet gear or something.
Me too. I always frequent independent book/comic/cafes/vintage stores too.
It is less convenient but I always without question have a better experience. I understand that the TikTok generation don’t feel that way but anecdotally, took my nephew to an Indy flea market on Sunday (he’s vinted/temu mad) and he fucking loved it.
If it is any consolation it’s the same with any delivery service now. I work in the steel industry with made to order goods that are on the whole bespoke items to every order. Lead time is generally 10-20 Working Days and people are confused as to why they can’t get it the next day. They then seem more confused that we charge delivery even if it’s 10 tonne of steel from the West Midlands to the top of Scotland. Don’t get me started on people not understanding what “Working Days” means either!
Amazon has ruined peoples perception of how long things take and cost.
My wife is due to fly back from Cyprus tomorrow evening but has just got food poisoning. Shes worried she wont be able to travel back tomorrow, either due to being too ill or jet 2 not letting her on the plane. Has anyone had issue with this?
Not sure Dad Board is 100% on this but I get what he is saying. I haven’t watched a lot of his videos but one I watched he essentially dipped from a spot because other people turned up/were already there.
Young generation fucking up by not putting names in videos - and no, yt descriptions are not it. Carhartt / QS /Romain Batard seem to have done slightly better by making named chapters here
Young generation should pay some attention to older generations just to learn the history. I know it took me a while to appreciate the early 80s but I also had exposure via the first video I saw public domain so I was aware that other aspects of skating existed (shout out Daniel Gesmer!). I guess young generations don’t have that sort of media today if everything’s on tiktok/instagram
