Not Stoked.

That’s horrendous.

I was given two weeks off when I lost my dad but ended up having about 5 as a weeks holiday fell into the first week and the next two weeks I was just a mess so was signed off. I didn’t enjoy my previous job but credit to them they were really good with me at that time.

100% go back when your ready, take 2 full weeks if need be, take 6 days if your ready, don’t feel rushed back everyone deals with it differently.

I had a week on when I lost my dad because I could take it, my brother was given 1 day off which is shit but he was ok with it as it provided distraction.

My mother in law passed away in pretty horrific circumstances last year and my wife took 3 weeks and I took no time despite being offered it, so 100% go when your ready.

All top advice. I spoke to my boss, i’ve already been off two weeks, I’m going to transition back this week, maybe just work mornings, take it easy and do what I feel. I’m off on holiday for a week after that and going away for a few days with the wife, kid and dog so that should hopefully give me enough time to get straight.

With the funeral yesterday and the expected family arseholes I had a rant last night and now feel like a weight has been lifted in terms of not having the funeral hanging over me, and honestly, i’m actually kinda looking forward to getting back to fixing peoples computer issues rather than watching Family Guy re-runs and internally arguing with myself against going out for a cycle

Why do idiots decide to completely fuck a payroll system on the day I’m due to go on leave? Fucking madness….

Car is up for renewal soon, wife took it to the garage to find the combined repairs and servicing costs would be enough to buy another car. Totally ruined my first weekend away in ages, I just want to set the fucker on fire.

Not to mention payday is not on a Friday but a Monday, you know for a laugh.

Got kicked out of the local under cover train station car park I’ve been using as a TF for the last ten years! First time I’ve seen a “safety officer” there so I’m going to hope it’ll be ten years before it happens again, as it’s super handy when it’s raining.

Mum came over for the first time today without my dad, that was odd, lots of existential questions rattling round my brain at the moment.

So after she went I squirrelled myself away in the garage, broke out some acetone and stripped the graphics from an egg board then lacquered it. Mildly theraputic

losing someone treasured is slow-motion full body slam on a freezing day.
the system does not bounce back into the same shape.
wishing you and your ma good vibes

During lockdown I made a bunch of fairy doors and stuck them along some of our local walks so my daughter could spot them.
Most of them were ripped off within several months but one (far left) managed to survive in the local park until today.

Lost count of how many times we’d be walking through to see a random kid being stoked on finding it. We’ve got the remaining one on our front door step, it’s the same most weekends, a passing family en route to the park will stop as their youngest spots it or wants a photograph beside it. Mad how something so simple and small can bring a lot of joy.

I hope the Michael Fabricant who removed it shits themselves to death.

What did you glue them on with?

No nails mastik. Pretty strong stuff I made the edges seamless adding cement dust to hide the off white color of the glue blending it to the wall plus to make it difficult to pry off. So whoever did it had to have a good go at it.

Edit The doors were made from sculpy resin clay and baked to cure and painted and sealed with lacquer. Warhammer skill played a part.

I’ve always had mixed results with unibond no more nails.

Found plastics seem to be able to pop off after a few changes in temperature.

Someone still would of had to give it a good ho though if the edges were sealed!

CT1 hasn’t let me down yet. Good stuff

Bummed for you fella, proper gutted not to catch you this weekend. Those fairy doors are sick though, genuinely surprised they lasted as long as they did. Make some more!
