So grim. One upped themselves from last year. Fabricants
Absolutely.
This belligerant racist crap is all over the news this time of year. Does it register with the rest of the UK?
Not at all really. I don’t think most people have the foggiest about either the history or the current climate.
No, ‘mainland’ UK never hears 98% of what happens in Northern Ireland. Most wouldn’t know about parade season, who does it and why. I remember Ron Beckett saying ‘Why is the Battle of the Boyne in our calenders, no-one cares or knows what it is!?’ on Mock the Week, obviously hosted by Dara Ó Briain who soon put him right.
Just discovered that I got a £60 (+£30 admin fee) parking fine for taking 5 minutes to look at some shit skatepark in the middle of nowhere.
I used a quick chatgpt session on my last parking fine, but I did pay and was 20 mins late to my car due to an optician appointment. Didn’t get it completely revoked, but a reduction from £60 to £20. Worth chucking the details in ![]()
Yeah, already appealed. Hopefully I can get it reversed and somehow figure out getting it refunded to me via the rental company.
Washing machine has packed up. Water pissing out of it as soon as you start it off. Will try to get it repaired, but last time something like this happened the bloke said it was cheaper to buy a new one than get it repaired.
Often the case. Ours lasted 6-7 years then drum got out of place and had to buy new one.
Various companies keep setting up with the promise of making repairable white goods but never seem to gain much traction. Even the really spendy ones everyone says to buy like Miele are shite these days.
We had our old one for 11 years until it went bang. This one is only 4 months old! Within warranty, so a chap is coming round on Saturday to take a look.
I swear all my white goods have had a bomb inside them linked to a timer that goes off within a month of Warranty ending.
2 Tumble Dryers, 2 Dish washers and 3 Washing Machines all with in 6 weeks of warranty expiring.
same. Washers and dryers. I have fixed them both a few times but still had to replace them when something major goes. Awful manufacturing.
yep, been going on for years with everything. Greedy fuckers.
Unless everything is a giant cartel which seems a bit unlikely then surely one manufacturer could steal a march by advertising longevity and repairability instead of, I dunno, a washing machine that has a fucking phone app. It’s frustrating. Maybe it’s that enough people simply won’t stump up the extra few quid the machines would likely cost to begin with if they were designed to be taken apart.
That’s why the ever lasting gobstopper is only a thing of fiction. Companies would go bust if people only had to buy their products every 20 years.
We’ve had the same Dualit toaster for 25 years. They’ve not gone bust. If the toaster breaks I’ll replace it and it would be another Dualit.
Just had it with the fridge.LG. 6 months out of warranty, not worth repairing they said.. 5 years is okay I spose but I bet the firm repaired the fucker and sold it on
Anyone had a sonicare toothbrush? Every single one (out of…4?) has gone wrong just within warranty period
