No it certainly is not. Not heard of him but I do tend to like people who give it a crack in older years. Skating really is difficult and even more so learning from scratch when you’re not a child.

I didn’t know him personally, but he showed up regularly putting the work in, could be a bit self deprecating and would try new equipment regularly, seemed like an all round good guy just out there enjoying it

Mate I’ve broke two of my fave mugs recently. ONe I bought at the PlayStation experience in Earls Court around 25 years ago. Absolutely gutted.

My late 70s mother had her broadband updated earlier in the month, she wanted me to come over to set it up for her. I was swamped that weekend and was also on call from work over a software update. Asked if my sister’s husband could pop round, so she went in the huff
She just came over to see her grandchild, tore into me about and and basically called me a bad son for not seeing my dad enough before he died

my wife and brother-in-law are in the final stages of selling their mums flat (the buyer’s buyer was hoping to complete yesterday) their buyer has turned around last minute and insisted on an asbestos survey and indemnity insurance that their mortgage requires and has insisted through ambiguous solicitor jargon that my wife pays for it. Absolute shysters, can’t find anything that suggests it’s the sellers responsibility for this. After a little back and forth today my wife has paid £800 for this to keep things moving (exactly what the seller wants) but guarantee this opens a can of worms of the buyer pulling a fast one.
After watching the same asbestos awareness video for the last 15 years for H&S training I’ve know that all buildings should have an asbestos register. It shouldn’t cost 800 quid to look at that

Yeah not debating the validity of it, however my mother in law bought the flat 2 years prior without the need of one, it’s not a legal requirement, absolute fine if you want one, you pay for it, but not into being shithoused into paying for it because their mortgage needs one.
For context the survey is for communal areas, it’s a converted terrace house with a private entrance, literally has no reason to use the “communal area” anyway
it was £450 plus vat for the survey, then a couple hundred for an indemnity insurance, again for them. Can just tell this is going to be the snowball of them taking the piss and threatening to pull out to get their way.
I was about to start typing all the reasons why this is a load of bollocks but stoped, because I’m sure you know that already. This is just the usual last minute shake down bullshit. We went through something similar when selling our house earlier this year. Ended up knocking £2k off last minute just to keep the deal alive. Left a very sour taste but in the end glad we did it rather than letting the sale fall through.

Yeah I remember someone on here going through it recently, infuriating. Have already included a sofa and brand new fridge freezer.
