Not Stoked.

Finally got out of hospital (I’m just getting specialist appointments now, for a few things as they’re still not 100% sure, still a fuck on), the first thing I saw when I got out was a road in the town closed off by the police, there was no crowds or people rubbing necking, as I walked past. I spied a young lad on top of a multi-carpark going to jump. There were two people up there trying to talk him down (trained professionals). Did the only thing I could and kept walking with as little fuss as possible, I later heard that they managed to get him down safely thankfully.

Surely this should be on the stoked thread

I don’t know, it all felt melancholy, packing up to go, saying bye to people I’d just basically lived with for 11 days. Walking out the doors to grey skies, seeing that situation going on.

On a stoked note, got home unpacked, met up with the some of the crew and went and got food, they went off skating. I just wanted to get home and chill-out on my own. Enjoy playing music loud, watch shite TV, catch up on some clips, etc and just do what I want. Bliss.

last time i skate with my phone in my pocket, evidently the big pun tribute mixtape didnt do me any favours in my quest for a long nosemanny

how on earth did you smash your screen doing a nose manual?

front pocket, i reckon. A friend of mine fell on his keys dropping in on the old PlayStation vert ramp and that has given me the front pocket fear.

aye front pocket, went too quick and just nosedived the thing on the roughest fucking pad. the glass portion of the screen itself is fine, im assuming slamming bent the phone somewhat and cracked the digitizer layer underneath.

oh man that sucks. i try not to pocket anything if possible, switch/fakie means a front pocket becomes a back pocket sooner or later. i’m usually in half empty car parks anyway and will just hide stuff under my car

You don’t need your phone with you when you skate, leave it in car or somewhere safe. Obv you won’t be able to for all situ’s granted.

yeah im totally at fault for that one, normally i just leave it in my bag the majority of the day but yesterday we had those weird bmx riding chav combos tagging along and playing some pretty unbearable shit so I tried to drown it out to my own eventual downfall. ah well shit happens, glad i have a spare.

I don’t give a shit about weight. I just want to feel comfortable and ideally not get hurt. You know that current trend that consists of having at least 6 keys attached to your front belt loop? Imagine falling and landing on them. Ouch.

Always skate with wallet in left front pocket, keys and phone in right pocket. Haven’t fallen on them in a while touch wood. Probably due to me doing a lot of sitting at the spot, rather than skating.

Always thought I was a bit ut OCD about skating with empty pockets.
Nothing allowed in my pockets when skating…nothing.

I don’t like anything either, things flapping about in pockets or constricting movement annoys me.

Haha, that’s a funny one. I learnt that the hard way as a kid, when it was blindingly obvious that skating with a bunch of keys on your hip would never end well. But yeah, I’ll leave it to the fashion-over-function crowd.

You put your keys and your phone in the same pocket? But… why?

I always try to skate with empty pockets (not necessarily when I’m just cruising to work) same as I always ride my bike with nowt in there, after a particularly unpleasant OTB incident which left me with a very dead phone and a square bruise on my thigh.

To be fair I might have had a worse rock shaped bruise if I hadn’t had the phone, but still. I’d have had a phone.
