Old school UK skate pics and footage

That’s so awesome (it was blatantly awful at the time). What were the wheels like on different surfaces? I imagine they’d be really bumpy on rough ground and slippery on smooth ground

They were pretty awful but eurethane was just round the corner.

ACS trucks, Road Runner wheels and soon Tracker trucks and OJ wheels
Then Kryptonics and Gull-wings

I’m amazed at the prices of original kit . I should have invested in a dozen G&S fibre flex.

Would be good if you could post the OG photos as you’ve scanned them, rather than the insta link. That way we can peep them at a much better resolution…

Billy Smart’s Skatewave indoor park, I’d completely forgotten that place ever existed…gets a brief mention in this Essjay interview from a couple of years back.

The circus guy? Sounds mad.

Yep - the 70’s skatepark x circus connection runs deep - the Chipperfield’s built a skatepark on the site of an old zoo in Plymouth back then too. It was pretty extensive concrete park with a massive full pipe. Maybe @Spike has some photos knocking about :man_shrugging:
