Who could’ve foresaw that every pro under the sun starting their own board brand would lead to board companies becoming less valuable

Every pro and anyone that has a bedroom.

It’s a real shame because when it came out Vase felt a bit like what I imagine WFTW must’ve been like when it came out. Obviously not as culturally significant in hindsight but it was genuinely exciting to see a full length from a legit British company and it getting international acclaim.

When I watched vase for the first time it felt like the first uk video that was up to the level of the blueprint videos.
Like a passing of the torch.

Realistically, I think that’s all down to Jake Harris and his connection with knox and the rest of the team at the time.
I think with Jake focusing on Atlantic drift, isle didn’t quite have that someone special behind it to live up to its first offering

I still get cold sweats thinking about how stressful organising that was!

TK went pro that night too.

Few familiar faces in there of the forum

Just realised, that was the day I met you and brewer and we went out skating!

I vaguely remember this. I remember getting breakfast but couldn’t tell you where we went skating.

Unexpected. Pretty sick actually.

And probably a better move for Apples than a retirement home back at Flip.

So awful it’s funny?

I wonder what appleyard’s contractual obligations are considering how his output is pretty non existant?

1 360 flip every 18 months.

Honestly, what little he puts on insta tends to be quite nice. Seems a weird move though unless he fancies a bit of a late-career renaissance.

Fixed that for you

Very unlikely to happen in my opinion. I like him as much as everybody but let’s be honest, he’s been chilling for two decades now.

Who is actually buying Disorder product though?

Can’t disagree too much with that. That seems to be an Aussie pro thing doesn’t it? Brophy is another one that was active for a couple of years and has just been coasting since.

Appleyard of Canada (?)

I was about to say he’d had a Globe part out not that long ago, but just went to YouTube and it was 4 years ago!

Prior to that was his soul rebel part, which was 2013. So going on that timeline we’re 3-4 years away from another part.

Tbh, it feels like Apples knows what he has to do to keep his sponsors happy, and beyond that he’s not particularly inclined to push himself. That’s not a diss, but making fat checks from Globe and being on Element during one of its commercial highs meant he probably hasn’t had to worry about getting his name out there

When comapnies do this sort of thing, it always seems more of a name licencening deal than a legit team move or a second coming in my eyes. Trying to give his company some credibility through having Apples name on a board.
