Bit of a stretch to compare Brophy’s career with Appleyard’s tbh. Yeah he’s been coasting for years but he won SOTY when it meant something and had 3 consecutively insane parts, including one on arguably the greatest video ever made.

He has some tie to Australia iirc, so you’re not far off.
I was at some skatepark thing about 15 years ago and only realised later in the day after it had happened that I had been stood next to him for about 10 minutes.

Practically the same situation happened with Tosh Townend too
A random David Gonzalez insta post was recommended to me and he mentioned in it that he’s quit and doesn’t miss skating. Don’t know if that’s big news anymore but he used to absolutely shred. Wonder why he’s over it.
