Touché! He’s got a mega bland, Cali bro image but Joslin has been a consistently next level hucker since he came on to the scene. He went to the Olympics this year and put out 2 parts. He’s right in his window!
But, yeah, can’t see anyone in a rush to pick him up but that’s not just because of his image.
When was the last time any of the big 3 (Nike, adidas and NB) put on a recognisable name? Reynolds to NB and Jaeb to Nike, but shoe companies seem reluctant to hand out new contracts at the minute.
Not inconceivable that the big shoe companies might start to phase out having a formal team altogether in the future. Just flow people shoes and harvest some Instagram posts. See ya later skate videos!

I also looked on Slap and almost immediately wish I hadn’t.
There are a couple of people on Slap who seem to respond rather than react.
But otherwise, it can be so fucking reactionary on there.
Literally people on there going off with:
“Who gives a fuck about this outdated dude.”
“Why does that dude even have a pro shoe?”
“They need to change what they are doing.”
“If I were running things, I’d kick these dudes off and do x,y & z”
and then that all happens…Wish fulfilment.
But the take is:
“Oh, that is the end of them”
“Why would they kick x off”
“They should die”
Not that I ever take anything I read on a message board seriously. haha.

Interesting to hear him go into a bit of detail. Kind of surprised he got the boot, I know he’s not in the streets as much as TJ and Wade, but he’s still pretty active, especially on YouTube, and clearly has a following.

Painted himself into a corner with all the skatepark footage and his kooky mate, but you’d have thought someone at E’s could have just had a word and helped him shift focus a bit. He’s a natural at the vlogging stuff and seems smart so he could surely switch it up a bit.

Just watched the Asta vid. If they’re rating riders in terms of ‘value’, and the Nidecker Group was dead set on reducing team sizes, not sure why és chose to stick with Wade over Asta. Asta has a much bigger online presence.

I’d have presumed with Asta being on SC (which definitely shifts units in the US) and being active on YouTube that he’d have much more of a connection to a younger, product buying audience.
Wade, TJ and Asta makes way more sense than Wade, TJ, Hart and Penny.
Obvs Penny deserves to be hooked up for life, but let’s be honest, no kid is buying es because he’s on the team.
