i’d not heard of Jake Hayes (hey, living under this rock is cosy), but he seems sound, and tells a good story

i have heard of Fabian Alomar, and he also tells a good story (probably not someone to be on the wrong side of)
more in depth than the Epicly Laterdd Menace series

FREE FABES!

I’ll give this one a whirl. Sometimes Chris Roberts makes them pretty difficult to listen to.

The Fabian one is good, he does most of the talking and keeps Chris in check

That’s good. He has been embarrassingly poor in some interviews. I do like Jeron though. And Kelly laughing, which is frequent.

You saying you like Kelly laughing?
Makes me want to drink paint.

Might give Fabian a go but I feel like Iā€˜ve heard it all already.

The most Chris Roberts definition of ā€˜research’ possible. What a Doyle

Context a bit out as I’m deep into work burnout at the moment and struggling as I’m really fucking tired. But yeah, I’m a fan of laughing and I like laughing myself. Fucked up, I know.

I’m over an hour in and I have heard most of it before. Can be a bit frustrating as timelines jump a bit and really, I’m most interested in what I haven’t heard which is the dropping into the TV work like Mayans, This Fool, Trejo etc etc post-prison. Happy to take my brain out for a while as I’m exhausted.

Chris Roberts comes across as really lazy and has done, to me, for years. A pretty fucking privileged seat he has there and yet often, as the viewer - and someone completely uninvolved in the scene or industry like myself - sit there thinking ā€œI feel like I know more about this shit than this guyā€ its pretty poor form and ultimately shows a lack of respect.

Chris Roberts isn’t that bad. Super nerdy interviewers often end up taking the interview a certain way and it’s not always fun. Nardwuar interviews are sick but they often put the subject on the back foot and can get super awkward.

When Chris gets it right he creates a comfortable atmosphere where the guest is the expert and that can be great. It comes across wrong sometimes and you get the impression he’s playing dumb…but I don’t think he’s that bad.

They’re just the impressions I’ve got from the ones I watched, up to the point I was done with it unfortunately. CR doesn’t always seem to listen to the interviewee which is annoying when you’re sat there and thinking ā€˜they’ve just bloody told you that!!!’. Probably a bit harsh last night - He doesn’t come across as a bad person, just frustrating.

He seemed to be a bit better with the Fabian interview - so maybe, maaaaybe, maaaayyybeeeee it’ll improve.

Yeah sometimes you wonder if Chris leaves the room while the guest is answering.
