anyone got any tips for render settings for minidv footage specifically the canon xm1/gl1 - file formats etc? last time i fucked with DV from my old panasonic I think I was using .mpg maybe but been capturing shit from my friends XM1 and not 100% sure what settings to use for render. Using sony vegas, cheers.

yeah out of Vegas. With h264 I’m assuming mp4, keep res normal (720x576), pixel aspect ratio normal etc. what about bitrate?

I don’t have specifics as it’s on my friends PC and not mine but I think it’d roughly be something like this.
Change Frame Rate to PAL, video format, whats in the drop downs? Should be H.264 somewhere.
5,000KBPs Bitrate.
Under video format is either AVC or Memory Stick as I edited one of the original presets, under entropy coding is just CABAC. I believe AVC/Cabac is Sony Vegas built in h264 preset. On higher quality presets there’s some other options (AVC, AVCHD, Blu Ray AVC, MVC).
Try AVC. How long is the clip you are trying to export?
