Nah of course not. But the fact that the most intimate part of the female anatomy is used as a massive insult is derogatory.
I’d be interested to hear a female perspective to be honest. My Mrs doesn’t like the word, but then she doesn’t swear at all.
It’s kinda funny how sexual words are so often used as insults.
My wife says it and I’m pretty sure every girl I know says it.

Michael Fabricant isn’t the correct word for lady bits, it’s slang in itself and has grown into so many meanings, which I feel separates it enough from other more harmful words. N word is also kinda slang but it’s so charged that it cannot escape it’s original usage enough to become anything else less harmful.
I was raised on zero tolerance to swear words.
Now i love them in the right context, usually humour.
Yeah. I wasn’t allowed to say “fuck” in the house but would still get sent to the ‘Paki shop’ or have a ‘Chinky’ for dinner.

But those terms are still being used everyday without the consideration that’s they’re racist.
we’re going to be in this transition period for a good while yet until they die out, it’s getting less and less passed down with younger people ignoring their parents influence so eventually will disappear. Swear words will always be around as sometimes there is no other way to express something specific.

Don’t get me wrong, I love a good fucking swear. There are just too many sexist and sexual connotations to the word Michael Fabricant for me for it to be ok to use it as an insult.
It is a gender-specific part but it is not a gender-specific put down, which is why I think it’s different.
Yeah words like Michael Fabricant defo differ from things like ‘faggot’, which has always been a homophobic slur, was created as such and it’s context is to be homophobic. I would say it’s a weird one with regards to the Pogues track, I think it’s good the issue is being addressed, but also It’s context clearly isn’t to be used as homophobic in the case of the song- hopefully it’ll be something to reflect upon as being of its time- kinda like seeing Sid Vicious or Viv Westwood in a swastika/seditionarys shirt or use of words like ‘spastic’ too. Their original intent wasn’t what they have come to convey now.
I also understand when people find ‘Michael Fabricant’ offensive and would happily refrain from using it if that were the case, although it does roll off the tongue well good.

I think the fact the song is made for mainstream play is where the problems arise with it. I mean films and TV shows have been shelved because of racism in them, so it happens.
Watched it 2 days ago funnily enough. My favourite insult is Pesci calling the guy a fucking mutt and losing it after he tells him to get his shine box.
