Goodfellas is a true story though, based on his autobiography. So as a piece of history it’s true to life at the time.
Goodfellers and the song are the same, they represent real even if fictional scenarios with authenticity for specific times.
I was thinking more about Quentin Tarantino who as a white guy, has no problem dropping the N-word into fictional films for the art.
Defo don’t call Ricky Oyola a Dick whilst playing pool in Australia.
I watched blazing saddles again 2 weeks ago and was thinking how people would take it now a days if it was released.? Mel brooks and Richard prior nailed the language and hypocrisy in that film with great humour .
You don’t have to be a certain part of culture to make a story or a take on something that has other cultural elements. It’s still a true representation based on his knowledge, even if he ever makes a bad call and is wrong somewhere. If that ever happens then it gets called out and the artist defends the piece by giving context or they apologise if they realise they were actually wrong.
For sure.
This is a weird one innit. While Indy could argue that it is just a cross and nothing to do with it’s visual similarities to other questionable symbols it gets to a point when the defiance looks like support for every usage and ethos behind the other usages so then in order to explain it’s innocence the only way is to stop using it. Which is contradictory to that old Chink Chink trick name argument which is very similar.
Wow! Best get The last of the apparel before that gets pulled and mark it up for resale
Hopefully it only annoys Duane Peters and Jason Jessee.
Andy Roy too.
Is Andy Roy racist? Missed that and I’d be surprised if he was tbh.
Oh. I dunno, he’s just a cunt and would defend his racist buddies I would have thought.
You guys see his sick new tat?
He looks like GG Allin with a hollywood makeover.
Rotten.
I made some of these with the Hairy Bikers recipe. It was delicious. There must be some reason they’re not popular any more…
i was collecting wood and made a pile of sticks and someone complained to the council.
Haha… That reminds me of the first time I went to America and we got off the plane and the first thing my mate said (heavy smoker) was… “Eeeeee I could murder a fag”. Cue dirty looks from the people around us queuing at passport control.
