So every board a company has ever released since it started or a complete series of boards by a company? I bet most companies don’t have every board they have ever made, I’d love it if Flip still had Penny’s first pro board, the Weed Leaf board, but I don’t think it exists anywhere.
I want to know who it is! How well known in poker was he?
It might be under a pile of Darkstar team boards in some millionaire’s garage.
First Penny board was a Charlie and the Chocolate Factory one. Not sure if it was Flip or DB though. 29 here.
Not sure which SMO you’re looking at
Yeah, that’s the one. Wet Willy and Element in the same post:
Does he skate?
Yes - ok, fair enough, but it’s a daft waste of money.
No - A daft waste of money and a piss-poor attempt at trying too hard to get involved in something, but being too scared to do it. Armchair sports fans unite.
If he skates he’d have certain things he wants more than others. Rather than just, “Me got money. Give me all the skateboards”.
Strange most Death Box/Flip collectors say it’s this one…
I even remember the write up, ‘Penny’s first board how apt’ (Mandela Effect in full force?). The Charlie and the Chocolate Factory does have the six truck holes though, as they moved over.
Yeah I know the weed leaf one. The Charlie one was first.
I bet both don’t exist anywhere then, haha… so is it the companies whole back catalogue or would different series do for the millionaire, or rare one offs?
Who is this mysterious millionaire who wants all the skateboards anyway? Seems weird he hasn’t posted on here or on Slap about it. Lots of skateboarders there.
Well, on Slap.
You what? I am not sure what you mean about company back catalogues.
I don’t think either exist anywhere, no. Maybe the weed leaf does. Don Brider said they made less than 100 Charlie ones.
Some people say that Penny had a board around the same time and before the weed leaf with the Scout logo on it in purple too. Some of the old Radlands locals remmeber him riding that one.
Is that every board a company has done (back catalogue) or complete series just?
Edit: Or just other collectors complete collections (which could be of anything)?
Oh right. He offered SMO who has what is widely regarded as the best collection around $1,000,000 for all his decks. SMO has so many rare Powells, Gonz decks, Natas decks. Things like his first run yellow face Gonz are just impossible to find or to price really. Hand painted Natas, Gonz and Wes Humpston decks. Mint white Natas Phillips Panther on the stinger shape. First run Natas SMA. A World Industries Kareem ‘White Devil’ which is one of the most sought after 90s decks. Crackle finish Visions. All kinds of stuff.
As far as I know he hasn’t been trying to buy company collections, but he may have. All I know is that he’s bought from lots of collections and he’s been offering crazy cash. He doesn’t seem like a bad guy I have messaged him on Facebook a few times. Not my place to blow his identity if he doesn’t really put himself out there.
Ah right, cool, it’s his money and if people are willing to sell then I don’t see the issue. Maybe he’ll do something cool with them and open a gallery for people to see the boards/art or something?
Yeah I’m gonna try and find out more. I also thought it seemed weird but talking to other people he’s been cool and just seems to be like ‘I made 100s of millions I’ve bought a mansion and I wanna fill it with skateboards’. Weird flex if he doesn’t skate for sure…but I don’t know about if he does or not. He definitely knows what he’s buying he’s very informed. He took amost the whole @ninetiesnostalgic collection
By whom? Who even is SMO? It’s got just over a thousand followers on IG and barely posts, so there isn’t much evidence of this amazing collection on there. Is he a Facebook thing?
“So none of those stupid skateboarders ever get to see them again! Mwahahaha!”
Can always have a big bonfire when he gets into something else I suppose.
