Should just play this then a 45 minute extended edit of never gunna give you up
I watched a little bit of their set last night and was actually surprised at Axl running all over the place looking a lot thinner than the last time I ‘saw’ him (as a ‘welcome to the bakery’ meme or something).
Been listening to, and enjoying, a few other sets on BBC Sounds - Manics were good, Hot Chip too. Royal Blood aren’t doing too bad a job at the mo.
Might enable Dadmode later and watch some Sophie EB.
A VERY long time ago when I was all into the gym, I bought a Men’s Health magazine and there was an interview with Duff. He’s one of those psychopaths that does cardio until he pukes, every day. It was long enough ago that he’d be dead if it was meth, and he’s still alive looking like that despite rock and roll, so I believe it.
Cat Stevens voice is still great
That’s MC Cheshire Cat who was the ragga MC on Leftism. He usually tours with them.
Yup, very OG MC from Brum.
Thanks was wondering who that was. Listened to Leftism a lot at one point in time but never knew what any of them or their main collaborators looked like.
I randomly had a memory that Rob Drydek was the first person to nosegrind a handrail. Is this true or is my memory completely wrong?
First person to nollie nosegrind one - don’t think he had regular nosegrind but he might’ve
Backside or frontside? If backside was blatantly going for nollie crook
Frontside. On that SD rail Bertino switch backlipped if my memory serves me right.
I think Guy Mariano did a switch backside nosegrind revert on a mini handrail in 96ish. Maybe it was in his TWS Pro Spotlight. Hhmmm…
That’s it @franc it was a DC advert iirc.
Nollie frontside nosegrind is Dry dicks
Yeah I wrote it on purpose
Yeah I think you’re right! In 95, when navy blue shoes with white sole were the thing, before everybody started wearing black shoes when black Accels were released in 96. I think that nollie nosegrind was in a TWS vid too, possibly in slow motion at the end of a montage. In Uno maybe?
I’ve watched a few parts and full lengths and thought the fps is just too low. The Ishod part they mention in that thread for example. I’ve never made a serious attempt to film skating beyond a phone clips so I wondered what peoples’ opinions were as I’m no expert. No doubt it’s not as simple as this and other factors also play a role. It just got me thinking. I might be really wide of the mark here.
60fps has never looked right to me. It triggers a sort of “uncanny valley” response and I find myself concentrating on the fact that what I’m watching is 60fps rather than the content itself.
Didn’t Peter Jackson do a film in 60fps and it made everyone feel ill?
One of the Hobbit films if I remember correct. Haven’t seen any of them though, so I can’t comment on what it’s like.
Keep it that way if you want my advice.
Thanks. I lthought it’d be fun to shoot a local short skate film. I’ve never shot anything apart from throwaway clips so wanted to make sure I’m doing some justice to the idea.Sounds like 60fps is a terrible idea. Have got a page of notes of ideas for clips, and the song. Will see if it comes together.
All I remember of the Hobbit films is Radagast, he was a cool character.
