Always wondered wtf Scott Oster was doing with the whole G Turn thing

Oster is obvs a styler, but watching those Tony Roberts Speed Freaks raw tapes of the sessions with Dressen, the yawning chasm between them in terms of ability was stark.

He’s easy on the eye. Footy of him skating Arto’s pool was a treat.

He also married into the Getty family, so he’s doing okay!

Saw this linked on QS - the phenomenon of the bootlegged Bobby Puelo Infamous Skateboards…

I watched speedfreaks until the tape wore out. I remember my mum not being stoked on grosso, or the title. It really was an eye opener to another world though. The music, everything

Job update.

Job a) have left me a voicemail this morning but I haven’t listened to it yet.

Job b) I’m currently on my way to the interview and I feel like hot death. I’m shivering, my heads all stuffy and I just got really dizzy getting onto the tube. Of all days, why today.

I guess You’re done now by the time you read this, I would have delayed possibly COVID. But hopefully it won’t be and you smashed it somehow

I did do a Covid test which was negative luckily. Still not a great look but I think more of an issue for me than them. The guy was talking and I just wasn’t taking it in.

I think it was alright though, gave a couple good answers but def could have improved on a couple if my brain had been working at full capacity - I maybe didn’t seem as excited for it as I am. Solid B-.

I’ll drop them a thank you email tonight and reiterate how much I’d like the role.

Dunno if you need to but I’m not sure, guess it won’t hurt. You might be better off playing it cool. Anyone else,?

Follow up emails FTW. No need to bum them but thanking them for their time and reiterating how nice it was to meet them can go a long way, and wont do any harm.

Follow up email if you can restating how much you appreciate their time and how interested you are in the role and to state youre available if there’s anything from the interview you need to expand on

Was it on here where it was agreed it’s best not to send a follow up email?

Hopefully not because I’ve sent it

Tbh, they will have made their mind up the moment I left the room, an email won’t change that. But if it’s between me and someone else, and I sent a thank you email and they didn’t, maybe it might help.

Tbh, I’ve recruited people before and only a handful ever sent a thank you email, and it never made a difference, but it feels professional.

No no, just looked it up and it was definitely do send one.

If it’s neck and neck it might swing it I guess. Keeps your name in mind more possibly

Id always rather hire someone that was enthusiastic about a role.

(Full disclosure, my current assistant was really nervous in her interview and at the end said “I just want to say Im really sorry if i didnt say everything i needed to in the interview and Im really nervous but I really want this job and I really want to work for you all because of XYZ” and it was super endearing and showed how keen she was)

How are you getting on?

I got knocked out. Was a fun experience and played my cock off.

Hired a red convertible mustang and went to fire valley park.
