I shudder at the thought of fucking up whilst wearing shorts and the rail of my board scraping up or down my shin. At least in trousers I dont have to see the damage until I get home
Nyjah shorts for the win!
Cargo shorts for skating pretending I’m Hensley (or mid 90s Muska if they’re camo), mesh shorts if I’m chilling.
Skated in mesh shorts a few times when it was extremely hot and it was rather comfy. #fulfillthedream
Just spent a day catching up with family. Got to chat about transgender, race and culture issues with people in their 60s and 70s… boy do I need a lie down.
I used to skate in cargo shorts until late October. Brian Jones style.
Shorts and ankle socks if it’s over 15 degrees is my rule
I only ever wear Ralph shorts with the allover polo player embroidery when I go, got multiple pairs now.
No show socks always
If you can wear shorts, why would you not wear shorts? Shorts are great
I’ll wear shorts if I’m running or swimming or if it’s absolutely boiling, otherwise it’s just not seemly to be going around exposing one’s knees to all and sundry.
Always shorts.
Nike DriFit runners are good, Uniqlo and Gramicci also on rotation at the moment.
Sometimes a quandary about what to wear on the top half with shorts though, a long sleeve looks better but fuck being too hot.
You could end with “so nan, race and gender issues are basically a puppet show while the other hand is picking your pocket. The outrage you feel is carefully stoked and maintained by the Murdoch empire” or something
I tried explaining some stuff. My favourite bit was reminding them about my transgender sister in law that was staring at them from the wedding picture on the wall and perhaps they need more opinions formed out of having nice times with human beings than reading the daily mail.
Man, I used to have some jeans shorts. I slept in them shits man. Eventually I blew the crotch out them things. But you can’t wear em every day and expect for them to hold up! Some nice ass denim too, I miss those shorts. But you gotta take em off every now and then… you gotta take em off son!
Erm sorry what, denim in bed?
You heard
Your on one today mate!
In two minds as to whether to chase a promotion that’s come up at work.
I know the progression route I want to take at work, and this is not it. I’ve never been one of these that chases progression for the sake of progression, and don’t want to come off disingenuous by applying for something my hearts not 100% in.
On the other hand the others doing the same roll don’t appear that invested, did little to make my day to day easier, and were invisible for the first 4 months, plus it’s only a 1 year contract.
Stick with my morals or can’t beat them, join them…
Would that imply working more hours? What about money, would it really make a difference?
What’s industry do you work in?
A career advisor would likely say that preferred career routes likely do not play out as we imagine, and that a sideways move is sometimes necessary to get where you want to be. Blah, blah, blah… But as Franc says, if it’s more work then sack it off.
You thought about having a chat with the recruiting manager? Get a feel from them. Tell them you might be interested- see if they get stocked, etc? Maybe they want to change things up and it sounds good, or maybe they seem like a twat and you want nothing to do with them.
