Ive got family at Amlwch too. Lovely little bay. I need to invite myself over.
Close second to Anglesey would be the stretch of Northumberland between Berwick Upon Tweed and Beadnell.
One of my mates sites his tourer there at the moment, says it’s great.
I’m long overdue a trip to Yorkshire, visit my roots, both parents from there but no family there anymore
Keep going back to Snowdonia, staying between The Rhinog’s and Bedgellert. Love those areas. So much more to see in that area and the whole of Wales.
Linton Falls is beautiful too - especially if you like fishing.
Bolton Abbey is my favourite place on Earth. If you’re camping, Appletreewick is nearby.
Stourport is lovely this time of year
Here’s a fun interactive map that shows you how dead you’d be if different types of bomb fell on different cities.
Ah thats been around a minute, can you still change the type of nuke you can drop?
Set that to the largest bomb Russia has, detonated in London. Holy shit that’s like the entire SE of England gone
Chinese nuke in Sydney I’m vaporised.
Perfect. You either want to be right in the blast or on the other side of the world. Rather be vaporised tbh.
Pulling up a sun lounger with a pina colada.
Some news that will make some of you feel old:
Andy Scott is 50
More time has passed between the birth of Andy Scott and now than passed between the first talking picture and the birth of Andy Scott.
I’ll bet he can still do kickflip nose slides on vert.
Oh yeah, really steez too, I bet. He’d probably stick a kickflip sadplant for you if you asked nicely.
How do people feel about the (over)tourism protests across Europe? Has/will it deter any of you from making travel plans to these destinations?
With the locals being more hostile to tourism, temperatures being too hot to actually enjoy it, hassles at border control as non EU citizens and the general nationalistic movement in Europe, I can see more people doing domestic holidays.
I was daydreaming about getting into high end campsites in the uk near the coast somewhere as a business, now it’s getting to 30+ degree heat most summers.
Spend the day driving about the site on a sit on mower listening to tunes and then a little session in the micro ramp I’ve hidden in an outbuilding. Work all summer but then shut for winter and fuck off somewhere for a long winter break snowboarding or going round the tropics.
Some of the sites we go to have 100 plots each paying £40-50 a night that are full all summer. I get its seasonal but they must make good bank if you keep costs under control. The owners of the sites always seem to be driving £100k range rovers anyway.
I’m going to Barcelona in a few weeks with the family. Love the city, know it fairly well, lots of stuff to do for the kids + the beach!
Having seen the recent protests, i’m a bit nervous because I don’t want my wife/kids to be intimidated when we’re eating dinner. Will probably avoid Ramblas at all costs!
Will report back!
