Arent airports supposed to provide free drinking water fountains?
Can’t remember who was after stickers but these are good, based in europe but ordered and delivered no probs, good quality
At the same time as the rest of the extension. Not skated it personally but by all accounts the whole new bit is a bit of a dogs dinner
Dugs dinner is right, I remember when it got put up the quality of work was horrendous. Not sure who it’s aimed at, the bowls are the deepest i’ve seen anywhere, the little “street “ bit they put in is super tight, the full pipe is only for the Stu Grahams of the town. They would have been better spending the money on refurbishing the old park and they could have put in a good street area with quarters and banks and a relatively mellow bowl in instead
The bowl almost looks as bad as the bowl at Stoke Plaza in terms of usability.
Fuck me that thing was an absolute hole.
How does Stoke Plaza stand up against the test of time?
I remember going there when it was first built, with the skate paths etc
Pretty sure @Mike could answer that.
Someone I follow on insta skates there a bit and it looks a bit haggard. Some places look worse than others though. Any 20 year old concrete park that’s likely to have not been maintained all that well is probably in a similar state. Maybe the size of it is actually a bit of an issue, because how would you deal with maintenance etc.
Last time I went was last May. There is a lot to admire around the process that was followed to get the park, however I think the last time anything was done was maybe 13 years ago with the spined mini. So it has seen far better days…I don’t like it and don’t like where it is as there is no escape route…IYKYK ![]()
It remains of an era just before actual park builders started cropping up.
The bowl is frightening but one of the Telford lads I see fairly regularly who does ATV activities quite likes it. Young local lad George did a backside 180 into it to the flat bottom lol
In modern money it’d probably cost 7 figures to replace and Stoke City Council has no money so it’ll just be left.
TLDR; its a bit fucked.
I was never overly into it anyway. Moved down this way 20 years ago and have probably been as many times ![]()
Found a use for AI - cheerleading
I’m (as much as a lot of folks) on some kind of spectrum, but my big problem is procrastination that holds me in complete paralysis. I’ve been heading down a web dev route for a while, but ADD like paralysis keeps me stuck in a procrastination loop
So I asked Claude.AI (fuck Chat GPT) and it talked me through getting started then asked to see what I’d done and marked my code on it as I wnt, ended up with half a website before I knew what I was doing. For someone like me who constantly lets myself down, it was like having someone sitting on my shoulder egging me on
Paging @PolarJames
I don’t think I could see ai as real enough to let it have an affect on me but this is a great thing Darth, nice one.
My missus needs cheerleading so i’m on hand and it really helps her. I am a big procrastinator and realised that I am even more stuck than I thought so I need help too but cheerleading never seems to work for me, it doesn’t seem genuine enough for me to be able to use it. I have to admit that I have the problem, I have built so many parameters and rules for me follow that they have become walls.
Cheers
My wife is my biggest cheerleader, but I am exhausting, rethinking myself every three days and constantly looking for validation. I get her advise then ignore it and end up back at square one. Thing is, she’s helped me through some stuff, getting money issues sorted out and believing that I am better at a lot of things than I give myself any credit for, like my job. I was in a garage the other day, Mercedes, wifes pal wants a Smart car so they got a test drive. I hung back looking at motors. For the first time in my life I realised looking at a finance deal on a brand new Merc (some estate, not sure what) that I could afford it without bankrupting myself every month. That’s all thanks to my wife, otherwise I’d still be working in a record shop like when she met me.
(disclaimer, I’m not buying a merc, I am saving up an emergency fund and buying the odd pair of skate shoes, that’s about it)
Not sure where to put this
What do you wear to court……as a juror? weird I know, but I don’t think the Iron Maiden t shirt with the mustard stain and the faded grey cargo shorts are going to cut it. Don’t want to turn up suited and booted with the pocket watch and cane if that’s not the expected atire
Black cape and curly white wig?
Turn up in a Batman outfit, there to serve justice!
Don’t need to be suited and booted. Most people were just dressed regularly when I did it. Shirt or polo shirt or summat.
I’d assume office drone outfit would be enough.
